3-4 Defense - Wrong Personnel

Hi, everyone. I'm having an issue since the last game update in which the wrong players are out on the field in the 3-4 defense. I don't think the playbook matters, as I've tried multiple. Screenshot of lineup: https://www.xbox.com/play/media/AUNW68JACK

My lineup is as follows:

RE1: D.Walker

DT1: J.Jones

DT2: A.Billings

LE1: A.Huthinson

LE2: T.Gipson

ROLB: K.Mack

MLB1: R.Smith

MLB: T.Edmunds

LOLB: M.Te'o

In the 3-4, I would expect to see Walker, Jones, and Hutchinson on the DL with Mack, Smith, Edmunds, and Te'o as linebackers. In fact, however, the following players come out:

T.Edmunds: MLB (comes out at MLB)

J.Jones DT (comes out at RE)

A.Billings DT (comes out at DT)

T.Gipson LE (comes out at LE)

J.Hargrave DT (comes out at ROLB) (He's in my lineup as RRE under specialists)

R.Smith MLB (comes out at MLB)

A.Hutchinson LE (comes out at LOLB)

So, instead of three linemen and four linebackers, Madden puts five linemen on the filed and only two linebackers. This makes it impossible to run a 3-4 and stop the pass. Any one have any thoughts on this?

sadly, the 3-4 is officially dead. it was on life support already with zones being terrible this year and the player alignments being completely messed up. now its subbing in random players and if you try to shift the line it will put the OLBs in contains, even if they were in coverage. EA is really trying to force people to run man coverage and have to spend money to keep up.

The reason for this is because madden is now putting your rush DEs (Hutch and Hargrave) at the OLB spots in a 3-4, and populating the inside DL with the other DTs/DEs. So if you want to have Te’o and Mack at OLB in a 3-4, you’d have to set them at rush DEs or just sub them on the first drive.
