How is that an insult? That is what that ability does make up for bad defense. It should only work on contested catches at the time the ball arrives not when a WR takes two steps and already beat the CB but gets touched by a KO player And drops it. That is a huge bail out for bad defense and people who can’t user defend. Takes away the skill part of the game

^ this 100....abilities and xfactors have def narrowed the skill gap, its trash and sad

Hurry up and rpo etc spam isnt skill either. Nor is endless jukes impressive. Its a game. And a poorly made one. We can only play with what they gave us. So yeah, they should work.
Edit: also offense is super op and too easy so d needs all the help they can get. They need to stop nerfing anything that at least SLOWS down the offense.
You can switch to the player the ball is thrown to and hence user pick. That is the skill part of madden.
I don’t rely on KOs for bail outs, but I do make my opponent throw into them. When playing a good opponent (no, not the double post/verts, too common, too easy to bag) the best a good user can do is force a throw into those KOs. The 6-1 copycats must be upset their players aren’t doing the work for em. I did notice my safeties absolutely blow receivers up and they still make the catch. Wasn’t sideline, possession or any of that, just mossed. And it goes both ways, my WRs held On vs KOs. Something is definitely different, and Honestly, I’m cool with it. Now usering a WR is useful instead of just clicking on and spamming the preferred catch button. And the 6-1 boys gotta click on instead of letting AI decide.

I mostly agree with this. Pretty much what I was saying. You cant always just "switch to the defender" theyre usually too far out of position/already beaten by then to do anything if hes throwing there. Its actually quite frustrating. Lol
They definitely need to fix some of the game especially these YouTube meta bs plays but Kos are not the answers. In reality though offense in the NFL is OP almost every game is high scoring and comes down to who made that 1 big play on defense. But Kos help Take away to much of the skill part and if a person is actually good and has KOs everywhere they are way to OP. Honestly hurts people that actually know how to run an offense and not just 1 play meta TDS that the cpu clearly can’t cover.
i think the chance based animation for KOs is the best way, so many people are terrible at calling plays and rely on KOs, but i realize thats not everyone, i think KOs should be weighted 60/40, 60% chance on the KO working and 40% not working, just my take

for example many will press Herb (knowing he has DOZO) against a DK or Megatron, in what world would the defender do this if not for the KO? Many are relying on KOs to save their awful playcalling

Sometimes its borderline and youre like "eh, maybe that wasnt quite deep enough by a HAIR for deep KO etc" but not always, just had a couple that def should've been kos and they didn't. Is there a counter to them or does this just randomly happen from time to time?
Only started noticing it very recently fwiw.
Heres hoping EA made them useless
KOs should have never been added to the game.
I can't help but smile a little bit if EA further nerfed KOs. They are bailouts for most players, and that shit is annoying af. I've noticed they weren't as effective this year, which made me happy. I haven't played H2H in the last couple days to notice if they are even less effective. I guess people are going to have to actually learn how to call more than 1 defensive play. The horror!

Field sense is the worst in franchise history and the new Meta is all jacked up and designed for profit not gameplay experience!!
I have recorded evidence of what you say and more!
If it ain’t KO’s not KOing or Kam hit sticking no fumble to down right setting DB’s to shade outside, underneath, or inside and them ignoring orders even to setting zone drop preference to zone match a them straight ignoring their marching orders! This usually happens around a new card drop or program!
Usually whatever issue can be solved with whatever new abilities the cards in the program has to offer! This is the simplistic version and a much deeper conversation! But EA is purposely nerfing certain things to force people to pay to fix it!
But the good news 🗞️ is their meta is more flawed than ever!!! And any day now after a couple more tweeks! I’ll be ushering in my master piece of a MetaBuster! Same way I did when me and a few others started and brought to the community the 46 Nano blitz and team Nano way back around 04! Are abuse is what started EA’s regulation and the word NERFED even being used 💯 After a long time away I back b****** and soon I’ll show yall I’m still one of the best in the world
True my players have a animation that hitsticks while catching and I have deep ok and still catch
Yeah last night my KOs just stopped right in front of the receiver and let them score or run right around him

Will the offense also have to call more than one play then? No? Just keep spamming hurry up and RPOs that exploit garbage CPU AI over and over? Then when they finally DO make a mistake and throw it right to the defense theyll either dumb out and ignore it altogether or drop it? Then the same annoying little kid still scores two plays later? Cool.
Thats my biggest issue with it. The double standard and hypocrisy of people who say stuff like what you just said. (not you specifically, talking about in general)
Im a great user but I cant do everything myself, its impossible. KOs are a lazy way out for EA to KIND OF make defense even exist. They usually STILL cant stop an offense even WITH them unless offense makes serious mistake. But until EA fixes their overall game the mechanics should work.
it’s a love/ hate for KOs.
KOs are mandatory to be competitive on defense, but with all the current/future AP discounts, having 3-4 KOs on the field can kill a passing attack.
in a perfect world, they would get rid of KOs, and make zone/man coverage ratings affect pass break-up rates.
i like KOs but they are a bandaid for poor coding logic. defense as a whole needs a revamp
