Are fade routes actually useful this year?

I’ve only played the game for a couple hours so far and not much online but offline it seems like red zone fades where you aim the ball toward the receivers back shoulder is actually decent this year? I’m just thinking if eventually I get Parham in MUT id love to be able to use him in the red zone to catch jump balls
