Want a good defensive playbook
I been using the Raiders and run a lot of Nickle and Nickle Mug has been really good.
I'm loving Falcons 24 Dbl Mug. Although you have to be pretty good as a SubLB user to make it work.
KC has a good defensive playbook but it all depends on your scheme
I think the Ravens playbook has the best selection of Nickel formations, plus it has some good run stopping ones. There's no Dollar, but plenty of Dime formations that are essentially the same thing.
I flip between base 46 and chiefs defense
I’ve played around with a ton of defensive playbooks this year. Chiefs, Patriots, Raiders, and 46. Recently I switched up to the Eagles playbook because of the unique formations it has, and let me tell you - it’s incredible. Easily my favorite playbook for defense that I’ve ever used and my defense has improved immensely from it!
It includes base 46, which is a very solid run stopping formation with a lot of versatility. It also includes one of my favorite 4-3 formations in 4-3 over solid. It brings your LOLB up to the line to be an extra rusher, or to drop him into coverage from the line. From what I’ve seen so far, this formation absolutely shuts down the monster formation in squads, which has been a huge issue for a lot of folks with the Quadfather jumping into the meta.
Now, for the juicy stuff. This playbook has a lot of unique formations that not a lot of folks are used to playing against, so it really trips them up. There’s no 3-3, 3-3 cub, 24 double mug, or base dollar. Instead, you have a few formations that you can mix it up between and keep your opponents on their toes.
First is nickel double mug. This formation isn’t usually preferred to 24 double mug because this formation utilizes 4 down linemen instead of your outside rushers being upright. It feels a bit slower, but you’re also able to spread the line further, opening up gaps in the middle of the line to blitz from. There are a lot of nice cover 3 and man blitz options here, and it’s guaranteed to put you in a position where you’re able to pressure the QB and stop the run.
The next formation is Dime Rush. This formation is only in a few playbooks, but it’s very underrated. It’s very similar to your normal dime packages, so not exactly something you’re gonna wanna put out there against a run heavy team, but it has some of the best corner blitzing plays in the game. I don’t abuse this formation a ton, but it’s very nice to mix in to throw your opponent off for a big sack.
Last but not least is the Dollar 32 Mug. this formation is the playbook’s bread and butter. It’s your traditional dollar package, but much like nickel double mug, your two sublbs fill the gaps between your DT and edge rushers. This allows for a lot of disguised blitzes and overal versatility. The package is filled with DB blitzes and sublb blitzes, with one of the best cover 4 shells I’ve played with this year. The greatest feeling is usering the sublb, making your opponent think you’re going to blitz pre-snap, and baiting him into a user lurk int.
I definitely recommend trying it out. There’s a lot of ways you can mix things up with this playbook instead of sitting in dollar all game like the rest of the meta likes to do.

This is great. I've been using Bills playbook, so I'm gonna check it out. Thanks!
There are tons of good books. Raiders was always my go to. Started out with Miami which has a good mix of sets. BRoncos is similar. KC seems like the meta that everyone is running. Im trying out Multiple Defense now. It has the top end formations like Dime, Dollars, Quarters and 33 Nickle. BUT I'm trying to see if I can use 52 more to utilize all my linemen. It has been interesting.
Washington pb is a great option with 43/ ,3/4 , nickle mug and Dollar 326.Lots of great options.Hope you find the one that works for you.
