Byars review after a few games

I'll keep at it with him but I dunno ... I ran a few solo battles on All Madden and he dominated.... but in h2h he was stuffed

So weird how these high end cards can play phenomenal for one person and complete garbage for the next.  I have zero complaints with Byars so far.  With cards like Carmichael, I get destroyed by him in H2H but he’s chasing butterflies on my lineup.  🤷‍♂️

Sometimes you just run into bad luck or certain opponents....

I tried h2h then tried house rules. The guys I played in H2h were stacking the run it seemed. usering close to the line, maybe that's it....because deep passing stuff was open. Tony G had a field day receiving......Something was just off also....

I remember one play, I was on the 2 and had Okoye behind the Fridge on a right side power run just off tackle. On that play the left d end is not blocked because there's usually no way he catches up to the runner. Okoye, with 97 accel, gets caught from behind by Thibodeaux who has at most 93 speed and 93 accel, just before the goal line.  I've seen it happen in Madden before but only against cards with elite speed , accel, and pursuit.....and not against a guy with almost 99 accel...so something was up yesterday. Maybe it was my day to get equalized LOL

In house rules, since you start basically in the red zone, everyone was stacking the line so I guess that's what happened there. I played probably 12 HR games, had the ball first maybe 4 or 5 times. Half the time I got a pick off their first drive and just kicked a FG to win....but when I had it first there were 7-8 guys in the box. I tried to force the run and really I shouldn't have...but what disappointed me the most were the 2 fumbles on receptions and one play where he got out-muscled by a short DB (I forget who it was but he was like 5'10") for the ball when he was in front and it resulted in a pick. It was in Byars hands and the defender just took it. 

He doesn't have high motor and he doesn't get clutch, probably why he didn't perform well in HR which is set in OT

He’s been good for me in about 20 HR games. I had Dickerson, and like many said here, he just wasn’t good for me.  Lynch and LT, and even CJ2K were far better.  Might have been the lower accel, not sure, but Dickerson always felt like he was running in mud and couldn’t even get out of the backfield(my Oline is all 96s and 95 Ryan R at RT).  Byars has seems better to me.  I think he may have had 1 fumble, but not sure.  Far better receiver, even without BF Master.  Sold Dickerson and LT, and I’m going with Byars, Lynch, CJ2K, and Okoye at FB.  Has worked well So far.  I really didn’t like Dickerson after his first card was great for me, the Legend was mediocre at best.

Surprising in HR considering it is set in OT and Byars does not have the clutch trait but Dickerson does. I have 96 Munoz, 95 Kelce, 96 Creed, 96 Shields, 95 Ramcyzk. Dexter lawrence w 95 run block at TE, Delanie Walker w 91 run block.....with 96 Fridge either leading the way as FB or TE . So I got the blockers to run the ball....

How did you use Byars in HR? Since it is only one drive unless you tie, and starts basically in the red zone? Everyone I played in HR stacked the box

thats because your prolly repeatedly getting hit by corners and safeties with deflator eventually hes gonna fumble. also isnt byars rlly a fb? his team diamonds card was so maybe hes not even meant to run it

The first was on the first play of the game and it was a hit by Rod Woodson . My opponent had deep zone KO on him and nothing else. Byars wasn't fatigued and had Tank on him. If you look at all the comments about him, he's statistically the best running and receiving back in the game. he's definitely meant to run the ball - HB is his primary position on this card

dont think tank is gonna mean anything if hes not hitsticking you but ripping the ball to make u fumble

This is 100% true, but in this case, this was actually a hit stick....and Byars went down from it. Tank is supposed to prevent hit stick tackles :(

i think it prevents it when YOU make him truck and he hit sticks idk though
