On a lot of abilitie for D-linemen, I see “pass rush points.” Especially on like Double Or Nothing. Before Madden 23, I only ever played 17, and I don’t remember that being a thing.
so can someone explain this to me please? Like what do they do?

It's basically how many attempts they have to get past a lineman. Each move costs a point. If it's unsuccessful, they keep going until they either win or run out of pass rush points.
Every defender rushing the passer has their own pass rush points. When a defender is engaged with a blocker they can trigger a pass rush move to try and shed the blocker. By default triggering a move costs one pass rush point. When the defender is out of pass rush points they can no longer attempt a pass rush move to try to shed the block. You gain back a pass rush point each down.
Double or nothing makes your moves 2 pass rush points, while defensive rally grants your players an extra pass rush point on 3rd and 4th down
Thanks both of you! Super helpful, thanks!
I wanna add and say double or nothing also makes your sheds a LOT better so it’s not just a penalty lol. I would assume you know that but what breakluna said would confuse me if I didn’t alr know that
if you use double or nothing I’ve heard relentless can be a good combo, I also think double or nothing sheds on run plays but I’m not 100% on that one
