I got the cleanest strip fumble in my divisional game and the clip started RIGHT AFTER the fumble. T.J. Watt also took it for like 90 yards and tackled on the opponents 5 🤣.

Madden penalities have always been a fascination of mine. And I have a Bachelor's degree in manipulating them to go my way most of the time on both sides of the ball.
What I believe happens for Defensive PI penalties is that its based on the direction of your movement stick at the time of collision and /or length in time of the collision.
I do my best to not make Xs like in your play unless I make room to do so.
WR running right to left upwards.
You running right to left and downwards
You both cross in a X pattern and touch. triggering the penalty.
Its just my opinion from my observations from in game testing. I can trigger a penalty on myself every time crossing at a X whether it be PI or Illegal touching.

That makes sense. I do a lot of Xs but don't get called too much. I get a lot of IT because I get stuck rubbing someone trying to get to the ball.
