Conspiracy theory: RPs will be 84 OVR

My reasoning for this is because of the AKA player pre order being 85OVR

Last years pre order by X date (all madden Kupp, Barry, Kam, or Micah) were 87s, RPs we’re 86s, this years pre order by X date (Sauce, Jefferson) are 85s, which is why is think RPs will be 84 OVR

Thoughts?

I definitely think they're going to be lower ovr than previous years. There's just no way EA wants everyone who did all 32 sets to have a great team at the start of 24. It's not in EA's best interest.

I agree the fact that the preorder is an 85 probably means that the RPs will be 85s or lower.

I can agree there. They gotta make them good enough where people don’t think they wasted their money but not THAT good where you won’t want to buy any shiny cards thhe first two months of the game

You have more trust in EA than I do

First, there’s no way they have different OVRs among the group. Second, given we’ve never (?)had so many RPs rollover, they almost have to be modest OVRs. Third, my sense is that EA wants them high enough to create demand for packs to pull mid elites that allow players without lots of RPs to compete with them in multiplayer modes.  All it takes is getting killed against a full RP team to send a spender to the marketplace to buy platinum packs. Fourth, because they’re BND (other than the ultimate rookie), my sense is that anything <83 would create a negative buzz given all the energy around the program this last month. 
 

So my guess is 83-84.

This is definitely a possibility. Especially if they go back to upgrading them throughout the year (which I doubt). But EA has shit on us, the loyal customer, for a few years now so I wouldn’t be surprised if they made them 83-84 and just left them.

Maybe they want to slow down the overall increase throughout the year.  If they start smaller it will make each overall bump a little more important

Not a conspiracy at all. It seems highly likely in any case.

I'm just happy to sell my 98 RR players to anyone fast enough to claim them to aid and abet the chase for RP players in order to facilitate their inevitable disappointment at the start of 24.

I think they will be core rookies that are just used for completing the rookie hero set.

They didn't say we will get rookie premier cards, just a copy of that players card in m24.

Expect sellable core rookies that can be used in the hero set.

Agree on the logic, but they will be lower.

or will there be a set, where you can add 8 and get a higher overall version that is auctionable.

if you did all 32, I did, 32, 84 overalls, no need to rip packs or even build a team for 3 weeks. 

I guess what it comes down to, is, how many sets did the average person do?  The lower the number , the higher the overall.
