Does the corner HAVE to be in a deep blue zone for this to activate? Or if they are in a 30 yard cloud flat does this work as well?

It's my understanding that it depends on where the defender is on the field and not what type of zone of zone you assign to the defender.
So deep out zone ko should work for 30 yard flats.

This. I've seen my safety's deep in ko activate against a post when he was in man.
