Defensive line meta/abilities

I know the meta for defensive line is zero ap spent

I currently do still spend 1 on furious george Xfactor I basically get zero natural pressure in just worried if I take it off I will get literally zero natural pressure

What abilities should I be targetting I have no clue instinct would tell me LT is the best edge because he's the only *I think* edge elite and double or nothing for 0. But are both of those combined less valuable than secure tackler ect. I would prefer my Madden DT to be my 2nd DT on 4man line or a sub into dollar if I need I side stuff. Any recommendations for a DT? And main question of the post what are the desired edge abilities. I have no clue tbh. 

Bonus question what strat cards are the bang for buck rn considering so many stats are 99.

Brown is hands down the best Dt with his token 

Line is going to depend on what you want to do. I use reggie and LT. 

Youll want physical boosting stats if you have the highest stats.

LT and Strahan. Brown and Reggie are my rush DTs. I’ll rotate Bruce smith in so my ends can replenish their pass rush points. It’s basically defensive rally without using an ability slot on it. 
 

I have DoN on all of them.

Damn the one answer I hoped not. I had a feeling brown was and everytime I have readjusted my scheme/players over the last few weeks I ask myself if I can sacrifice a token to grab him. I can't.. I have 3 wish I had grinded the 4th in hindsight. I use byard+Neal as my 2 sub lbs and love that I can user either or and trust the other un-usered. And fuller I f'ing love. He can fit into any defensive scheme in trying (cycling thru them almost daily lately) and worse case scenario he ends up as my FS. Hes my 5th corner in 0 blitzes ect.... 

So it sounds like 0 AP edge threat elite is your #1 edge ability. I really like Reggie as a DT also. So essentially I was trying to figure out if there was anyone on the same level as Reggie/brown/LT because I could take edge or DT as Reggie is flexible. And it seems in your opinion that's a no.

Thanks man I used to be good. This is the first Madden I've dedicated significant time too in almost 10 years. I can see myself actually getting really good too so trying to cover all bases. 

I'm very close to an incredible coverage strategy with my 6ap lol

Heard so giving them plays off is the most effective way to have them effective when they are in the field. I also like Reggie as a rush DT. I had no idea what edge to pair with LT though. You suggest Strahan as the current best option. I have struggled with the battke of getting brkwn I know he's an uograde but I love my current token allotment and I sadly have 3 not 4. 

And so for you. Double or nothing is the #1 0ap ability to target.

I run a lot of nickel/dime so I have on Reggie/LT no outsiders, inside stuff, and don. Brown I have stuff and don. 

You could get a new safety with Byard or Neal. So many good safeties right now if you really need to keep one. 

For other ends you have Bruce whos played amazing through all his cards, Strahan if you want Tackel Supreme, havent used Youngblood but he looks alright. 

There may a GT who comes out and bombs everyone out of the water.

DT:

The free 96 Ngata has 0AP Inside Stuff and has played way better at DT2 than Madden. Jalen Carter has been the best DT1 I’ve used but I’m spending 1AP for Inside Stuff and using his 0AP Tackle Supreme.

EDGE:

LT and Reggie White have both played pretty well. Strahan (ETE/DON 1AP) has been the best non AKA that I’ve used. Groot and Furious George are still really good but they cost 1AP each for Unstoppable Force.

Edit: I forgot to mention I tried Derrick Brown twice at DT and he didn’t do anything for me. I also tried Bruce Smith last weekend and Strahan was way more productive on the other side with the same abilities. Smith didn’t do much at all for my pass rush.

I'm wierd but I'm proud because I came up with this. Lol I use dollar and nickle. My cb4 in dollar becomes my SS in nickle. So I have 10 consistent players with a true SS(woodson does fine) coming in basically to only play deep in dollar and my DT2 (Madden currently) for nickle. The schemes I run I have a hard time trusting a guy with only a 0ap pick artist or whatever to handle the responsibility so fuller(true FS) and byard (non user sub lb) having the acro as well for 0ap is a difference maker. 

However I just realized I'm an idiot and pola mao was my 1st guy out (call me crazy but I'm serious) however I could user him and only lose crusher/enforcer (can't tell which is better long term) freeing up the token. For some reason I had a mental block I'd lose acro but I've commited the 1ap to my user . 

TD on opening drive followed by a user pick is a 90% quit lmao

I hope I'm coming off appropriately because my defense has the traditional metas with my unique aspects that I'm really proud of and I think this really throws people off because it's so close to what they are used to the slight differences mess them up.

Ive also been testing the ngata the last few days but it has been while testing different schemes I'll give him a run with my current main scheme. 

Your the 2nd person to mention Strahan but your spending 1ap? Is that over spending 1ap on an Xfactor edge or are you soending 2ap and running both? I dk how I'd find an extra so I'm trying to go from 1 to 0 lol

Yeah it‘s hard to figure out the best way to spend 6AP. I’m actually leaning towards just having 0AP DON on Strahan and spending the 1AP elsewhere.

That's what others have suggested I've been running ten or so games with slight afjustments daily trying to figure out what kos ect are best bang for your buck. what position PA is important and which is it not. Legit I have dropped PA off Sherman and he is my legit true cb#1 in every scheme. He's mossing Calvin on aggs consistently. 

 What plays ultimately are the most successful and how to spend AP based upon that. I have a fantastic man scheme however. I feel a top notch zone scheme will be better. I don't know. There isn't the ap to be hybrid. And half of me thinks loading the field with high level players and acros and just hsving absolutely no rhyme or reason to your play calling might be best and I'm putting in way to much effort for no reason.

I have Tank and Groot on both ends with 1AP UF because I hate sending more than 4 lol. I feel like I'm still getting pretty good, organic pressure

I know most of the replies are about DoN or ETE, but do NOT sleep on Secure Tackler / Tackle Supreme (TS is better). It is HUGE when trying to stop Flash/Bus/Quad/King Henry. Both can essentially neutralize their x-factor (basically eliminating the run game as a whole).

I dropped down to 1 so that could be my problem. I don't need extreme pressure from a 4 man rush. I'm just trying to get "decent" with 0ap spent. And no one apparently stands out besides the 2 ability guys being decent I really wish the Madden DT was slightly more decent. Or had 2 0ap. Buckets 

It seems like the best 0ap 0token setup is LT, Reggie white @DT, then Strahan at edge. I'm gonna test Reggie white&Strahan at DT with LT and furious george as a 4man 1ap line 

All in all I feel it entirely depends on how many secure protectors they have. I get zero pressure against obvious God squads. And when I play a team lacking some talent Reggie white goes for 4 sacks in a half. Tony siragusa gets sacks lmao(tested him w. Rally to boost other 3)
