Do not bnd your 98s

I appreciate this. You and I spoke about the Reggie set with Pollard and I took your advice. Instead of rolling 2 million coins into 3 players that would collectively sell for 850k I bought Pollard and then went to Jacobs and Gus. 

You have really changed my entire thought system regarding BND cards. Now I do everything to avoid them and only buy cards and stock up on LTD cards that always hold value. 

The idea of "end game" players isn't true.

I run Lions so Im pretty sure Herman, St Brown, Calvin, and Barry will be endgame for me. If they release a 99 Jamo I would still grab and he would still fit in as I could put one of the others at 4 or 5. So it’s definitely situational.

If you are 100% devoted to a theme team.. that’s your choice. Legends are about to come back in full swing after this drop and ultimate legends this weekend.. there won’t be a theme team alive thats relevant. Which sucks, but ea did this.

They do look end game until EA releases new cards with cheaper abilities or free abilities and people are going to be stuck with 600k BND's that they are wishing they could sell.

I am 100% completely okay with that. I’m already 98/98 now with my lions, and only gonna be better after tomorrow. I don’t need maxed legends at each position to win. 
Earlier in the year I had my like 95 lions and switch to a full legend team which was just under 98ov and I got the same amount of wins, so I switched back. I’m just a 10-14 win a week kinda guy no matter what 😂 its just a lot more fun to beat higher ov legend teams with my lions while doing it.. I get legends are better especially for abilities but it is what it is.

How much are you really saving by buying the cards outright? I can see it if say, you only wanted the 99’s. Then sure, just buy those outright. But if you had a 98 you wanted, why would you pay the going rate for a 98 (or two) and then also pay the going rate for the 99? For example: I want Deion tomorrow. I also would like Woodson and Cunningham. I’m guessing 98’s will go for $650-750k similar to how the free agency set went. Initially anyway. So let’s say the 99’s then are gonna be listed at $1.5M. If I snipe my 98’s for 700k each, it’s gonna cost me 1.4M total for me to make Deion and have my two 98’s back BND. If I followed your rule of thumb, and got my two 98’s at the same price, then bought Deion at say 1.4M, now I’m at 2.8M spent for those 3 cards. Per the training/prices dashboard today, 98’s go for 571K. That’s 2.48/per. Unless you’re selling those 98’s before Easter eggs hatch, those 98’s will lose value, likely to 2/per or less when the market tanks. If you unloaded those two 98’s at 2/per, they’d sell for 460k/each, so $920k total. So if you kept the 99 you purchased, your total invested is now $1,880,000 (480k loss from selling 98’s plus 1.4M cost of the 99.) So in your scenario you would still spend more coins doing it your way, not save coins. $1.88M buying vs 1.4M building. You may can argue the training value of a full 98 vs a BND 98, but even then, who is paying over market value for a 98 just to quick sell for training.

its a game and we can play however we want. If it’s more fun using lions then by all means go ahead. I have 33/40 legends because legends went stale for awhile, but after this drop and uls this weekend. I’ll be back to 40/40. I’m 31 so a lot of the legend players were my favorite players.

Well your math is wrong.. the 99s will be cheaper than the 98s just like Reggie white. I explained that in my initial post. Expect 98s to be a mill and 99s to be less. Your return will not be what you think. Ea is smarter than that. They know people will lose coins.. that’s why they make the sets.  i could keep going, but I’d be retyping what I’ve already said. At this point most cards are endgame, even the 98s. You're probably not going to need to move on from them. So I would rather get them at half price and just sell the master.

I went back n forth for a long time with the reggie set. I ended up making 8 or 9 free agent 98s and QS the 96s for training and sold all of the 98s after trying them. I bought Reggie the first day for 800 or so thousand coins and never even thought about the 98s. I could never justify getting Odell when I know I would want some other WR, or a HB that would only be a returner. All in all I am greatful I didn't do the BNDs, but I didn't really want any of the 98s. If there was a 98 I want or like then it would be a different story. 

Everyone thinks differently - I have always done sets and had the BNDs until now. I think the OP is just trying to help people understand you dont have to do the set, you can buy the card and sell it back for a better return.

niners theme team will still be relevant.

i am planning on building moss first thing and selling for a premium.  never buying moss.  this is way too early in the end game cycle for a 99 WR to be top boss.  there will be 15 WR's released from saturday onward that will be better or equivalent to moss.  maybe not in terms of height but i am not nor ever have been a highball/agg catch player.  and they nerfed agg catch anyway.

I agree that you don't have to do the set. But the guy is emphasizing that it's a bad idea to do the set, and that people shouldn't do it.
