Yeeee honestly it's not hard to have good NMS team but madden been the only game I've been playing last couple months(PS5 games dry af rn) so I've accumulated a lot of time with just playing a couple hours every couple days. If u don't keep up with the market and stuff tho it's really hard ngl
I took a break for a few weeks earlier in the year and my 94 pitts I bought for 400k was down to 100k. Stuff changes very fast and if ur nms u have to be smart ab stuff
I'm gonna sounds like an EA whore, but no its not hard to be NMS this year. The toughest part is that it's super time consuming and imo gameplay is really really stale.
Ty law is free and has DOZKO for 1 AP, there is also a free BND player in the comp pass that gets it for 2 AP, and is a meta built tall, fast corner. Just a couple examples. We got 2 free legends, a free aka, and another free aka, plus free ultimate legends down the road. A free 94 from the playoff pass, free 95 from the SB pass. There are cards that are either free or affordable that still get free abilities and good ability stacks. AKA x-factor players are easily prebuilt the week before release if you have an issue with their 600k opening day price, BUT if you're no money spend you should not be buying cards the day they come out, that's just poor team building strategy.
The difference this year is you can't afford LTDs. LTDs are millions of coins every time they drop, so if you are consistently trying to get the limited items, yes you have to spend money. However, 2-5 cards a week that are not attainable for the average user is not that bad. It could be much worse, last year the first card to get a meta ability or a meta discount was the ONLY card, Vicks 90 OVR legend card last year was the first and only SFL qb for weeks. You get a free light it up token at level 10 in the super bowl pass that is easily achievable in a couple hours if you pay attention to what stats you need to do. Yes, there is an additional one in the store, which is a huge money grab by EA, but abilities aren't so OP that you'll lose every game you see someone with 2 SB players with light it up tokens.
If you built your team with BND cards and sold the champions to save coins you are actively filling your team with cards that are -3 OVR lower, and will be useless after a week or two. I never understood or agreed with this strategy very much.
The companion app is horrible for everyone, being pay to play doesn't suddenly make the companion app an advantage or a disadvantage.
Is it different than previous years being NMS? absolutely, is it harder? absolutely not. Weekly promos, AKA, and TOTW promos basically printed coins if you planned ahead of time. People don't have 90 million coins in their binders because they spend $100 in the store every week. The people on the leaderboard for their total binder value are no money spent players that work the market like crazy.
NMS is just about how much time you want to sacrifice, minimal time = minimal team.

I feel like whatever team you have just go with that team , there’s really no incentive to go after anything, just think about it , The CommPass really doesn’t have anything good and the season pass has nothing special As well so what’s the point of even spending money on cards when there is nothing to go after?
Everything is kind of meaningless I feel this madden Heck even your season record goes away it doesn’t even carry over so again continue being NMS they don’t give any reason to spend money , now again that’s my opinion.
Personally i think its easier to be NMS than at least last year but i had to divide my time into 2/3 playing the game and 1/3 working the market in the beginning(wish they had stats for that lol). I think EA does try to bend us over backwards more every year but there is ways to work the market with minimal effort and minimal refreshes. I believe I have 350 hours spent on the game according to Playstation and have this team that i linked. Early on when i started in October, i prioritized making 20 playbooks/coaches when i started and then played a couple games and added more as they sold, that was an easy way to stack coin to field a competitive team. As i got over a million coins, i started to invest and prebuyy set cards (first one was buying 89s for harvest 92s) and stacked up to 3 million with a competitive team. There was definitely a bad coin grind in this period where i did the market more than playing for awhile. However, around Zero Chill i started heavily investing in LTDS because i got over the 5M hump and since then all i do is check this site and buy LTDs that i know will go up. I made more coins off Gronk and Moss then some of your entire teams cost because this game like life is the rich get richer. Right now I'm making 500k+ off of each Kam Chancellor (i had 8) and will probably do the same with the Thursday LTDs. THE BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE is to watch iJoeBruin on youtube(don't need to spend time watching his stream) a little bit to understand when to buy things and when not to.
If you were able to field a 92-93 OVR team as of last week and had 2M coins laying around, you missed an easy opportunity to buy one Cam Chancellor and make 500 K off of that from one click. Putting in effort into the coin grind early on really pays off this time of year because you can make enough to buy all the players you want with minimal clicks/auction refreshes if you know what your doing. Now I play 90% of my time spent on this game and i have the best possible team if i wanted to
