seen tons of people on here say that once it's a 90 it doesn't make much of a difference, anybody have a source for that ? just trying to figure out which is a better strat item for my D... if there is barely any difference between a 90 & 93 ZCV then that eliminates an item for sure... also seen people say the same about MCV, but not sure where this info comes from / how it was tested ?
There's a difference between 89 and 90 zone. Somewhat significant. There's no difference better 90 and 93 zone.
It has been tested and MUTLeaks also found the threshold codes within the game code.
The way Man coverage rating matters is the difference between man cvg and route running determines how well the defender plays and how fast he breaks in the ball so every point counts, though the difference is pretty small.
But zone, only thresholds matter. Once you hit 90 zone, that's pretty much it.

This thread has some info. not sure where this was sourced from, but other threshold info I found online is fairly consistent w this one.
it’s the way the game is coded evidenlty. 90 seems to be the max threshold for most stats. I assume movement stats (speed, acc, etc) play a bigger factor once we get higher OVR cards
This is a good reference:
Interesting stuff. see, this is the stuff that would be good to know to truly evaluate your team and upgrades
@geega & @colby - both great links ty good sirs

This is not correct as you can see on mutvault. The higher the rating the earlier the players break.

That’s what I was going to post. Good job
I would really like to know if there is a difference when a 89 ZCV gets boosted to the threshold from strategy items.

Yeah, if you hit 90 with boosts it still counts as hitting the threshold.

Yep exactly this. The minor zone thresholds go in 5s so there is a minor difference once we hit 95 as well. But for the most part if you are hitting 90 zone everyone above that will play the same.
another stat that people don’t talk about enough in zone is play rec. EA knows this and if you look at the cards we’ve been getting up until recently they’ve all been under 90 play rec. once you hit 90 it’s noticeable how much faster your db breaks on throws when in a zone.

Yep. This is why I have Chinn and Ward in my secondary. And why I use the Brandon Staley strat card giving +1 play rec so that my record breaker Bland gets to 90 PRC. I think that pursuit also matters more than people realize.
