how do you play

i don't know how anyone finds ways to play this game??  everyone has always lit xfactors on dline 3 across giving at least 1 guy through in 2-3 sec.

 if you run on it they insta shed no matter what direction or id or double team you set.  

you make a great read and throw if they get touched any way its an automatic knockout.  only ppl who get yds are ones running xfactor bo everywhere and doing the same YouTube plays as the next guy. 

 is there a way to actually play without joining the cheese sad shit show?

 I probably win around 50% games and would win many more if it wasn't for this constant situation I play against

honestly, if you're already winning 500% of your games I think whatever you're doing is working great

but generally i run outside stretches or just stick in gun formation and do quick passes when players have so much power in their front line defense

First, you need to have Secure Protectors across your entire O-line.  Nothing else in the game will counter, let alone hope to slow down the various D-line X-factors, as you so accurately pointed out.  Somehow things have flipped drastically since fall, when offense was so easy and it was nearly impossible to reliably get stops.  Now defense has become fairly cake, assuming (and why wouldn't you be) your DBs are equipped with tons of Zone KOs, specifically Deep & Mid Zone (on outside corners and both Safeties), as well as Flat + Mid Zone KOs on Slot corners.

I assume you have the quad-stack on your Quarterback; Set Feet Lead (or PLE), Gift-Wrapped, Gunslinger and perhaps HRM -- or the various WR/TE/Slot Apprentice equivalent.  And YES, Gift-Wrapped is absolutely still a requirement, in April and May and for the rest of the year.  If anyone tells you its optional, they're probably also running Man coverage and saying "it works for me" but lack proper understanding of how the game mechanics work (or don't)... so tread carefully, lots of terrible advice out there (including from myself, at times).  Mastering the Possession catch mechanic and utilizing the velocity abilities on our QB will be the only reliable way to fit the ball in between all the Zone KOs.  Beyond that, abusing sideline throws (the ball still counts as a completion, even if/when the DBs knock it out, because buggy ass shit) works 100% of the time if you're comfortable doing that, but it's wading into the cheese sad shit show territory, as you yet again so accurately pointed out.

There's definitely some skill involved, especially in the passing game, but more than anything else, it's about understanding which routes will dumb out coverages, or how to use other "pull" routes (such as streaks, etc) to lure defenders away from the area of the field you intend to throw to.  I'm wildly inconsistent with my gameplay, but think I went 10-4 last week in MUT Champs, but i'm completely done with Comp Field pass and struggling to remain interested in the cheese-fest.

I play it by reminding myself it is a game and is to be enjoyed.  When winning a video game against random strangers online becomes the focus of my gaming experience...I would have to reevaluate what I'm doing (by even playing).

what are you talking about??  who plays a sports game without the goal of winning the game?? of course that's the focus.  not to mention winning is how you earn rewards to do everything else with.  

truly the most enjoyable thing about this game at all is opening packs.

great info as always!  sadly my 93ovr team doesn't qualify for all those special abilities so i work with what i got.  yes sadly any true football knowledge or strat mostly goes out the window and its all about how do you break the ai.

Teehee, this is basically how my wife perceived these "games" -- she doesn't seem to understand the value or importance of competition, but the 10 year old definitely understands.

It's extremely sad that the only actual value from this fatball simulation experience is the gambling (errr... team building?) aspects, oof.
