i picked michael irvin and what i did was this:
bought the 94 for 660k, and bought the remaining set pieces to build the 96 irvin ON TOP OF already having the 96 as a BND. bought the remaining pieces for 450k ish all up. cost me 1.2m to build him. sold for 1.2m (1.1m after tax)
received his 94 as a bnd for 100k for the power up. his 96 is BND anyway, so no need to have a 700k auctionable piece in his PU which will depreciate anyway!
Works for Irvin, doesnt really add up for the other ones like Randle though
Did this method recently but with Cunningham and it only cost me about 100k total to power him up

Yeah. I was able to grab the 93 DWare from the comp pass last week so I powered him up and he’s been a menace. Took DWare last week as I needed a good pass rusher/OLB and I knew I’d be able to power him up.

This method has worked pretty much all year. Just have to be patient and you can get the BND piece back for free. Remember doing it in beginning of year when Rod Woodson was one of the most expensive cards
