I think that they’re going to make everyone a lower overall this year with 85 being highest core elite. But that’s just a theory

Thanks for that

For what? A week? Or two? This ain't my first rodeo with MUT. RP shelf lives have always been short with the rare exceptions of a few in years they boosted the RP's over the course of a season based on their performance.

Then it is a week or two where I will have a somewhat competitive team. I am NMS, and this year was my first playing MUT, so those first couple of weeks of trying to play with a team of Gold 73-75 players was not fun, especially when matched up with all those that spent money at the beginning of the year. This way my Team will be no worse than 84 to start the year. All of the people whining about how many millions of coins it cost to get Aiden Hutchinson, what were you going to do with those coins anyway??? You can't bring them over to 24, and for most of you, they were "gifts" from EA glitches anyway, so why wouldn't you spend them??

You could use that mentality the entire game, stop complaining

This is your first MUT? Then listen to someone that has been playing it every year since its inception. MUT is a 10 month run for most of us and cards that have value for a couple of weeks have negligible value over the long haul of a season. UNLESS EA goes back to increasing some overalls during the course of the season, and even then experience suggests only a couple of the 33 will be on your field for more than the first few weeks.

Trust me I understand the point you are trying to make, but it just isn't a valid argument to me. I played Madden from Day 1 and will play 23 until I have finished all available content, so I understand the "long haul" mentality.
These cards are literally free in Madden 24. I spent coins from Madden 23, which would have zero value in Madden 24. Why would someone not spend those expiring coins on cards that start out as an 84 OVR, even if they are obsolete in 2-3 weeks. There is NO downside. Obviously, I wasn't playing in the past when RP cards upgraded over the course of the year, and that sounds like a cool thing, but I have no attachment to these cards, and if 3 weeks into Madden 24 a better one comes along, then it will replace the one I brought over from Madden 23.

I think it is great that Madden does this. At least there is some type of satisfaction that you can prepare for the next game. Unlike MLB TheSHOW and NBA2k, where there is no type of grinding for the next game. At least here you can somewhat carry over what you've grinded.

Exactly!! As much as I know that EA Sports is a terrible company, customer service-wise, they do do this, and no other game I play does.
