are you ushering a strong safety? Do you have scheme you play with on both sides?

I'd suggest finding a scheme on defense you like. I run zone 95% of the time. Whether it's cover 2 cover 3 cover 6 or cover 9 I'm always always in zone.
After awhile you get used to it save learn the strength and weakness of every coverage.
