does he get 3 free ablities? when i put him in the lineup builder it says he gets 3 free abilties. but then i read it is not free. help

You have to use 3 AP, but 3 AP gets you Enforcer, Lurker, Acrobat, Crusher, Pick Artist, Short Route KO and Mid Zone KO

No, it's definitely not worth it at this point with only 6AP. Before the AP change, I  built a Cowboys TT that worked out for a little while, and he was a beast of a user for me. Luckily the Cowboys had several MM players to use, and I used Tebow at QB. It was fun while it lasted.

Prior to the ap change yes. 
Now, not so much

He is pretty good though when it was usable!
