I’m just jealous. I also hate getting over matched in H2h

I've heard a lot of talk about "stick skills" being more important than the player items, but that's not a fair representation of the reality. An experienced pay-to-play opponent will leverage overpowering ability in the trenches (no stick skills) to establish the run and to force their opponent to pass. I'll probably address this in more detail in a future post.
As it relates to your topic, I'm seeing that Madden 24 is now selling at half the price I paid for it back in July. Anyone who gets into this game competitively at this time is months away from being able to compete fairly with people who have been here to collect Field Pass rewards no longer available, along with everything gained over two-and-a-half months of play. I've been here since Day One (not Day Minus-Two, as was the case with those who purchased the Deluxe Edition), and with a decent binder and over 1 million in coins to spend, I have an 89 OVR team with every starter but the defensive ends boosted to at least 88 OVR. In head-to-head presentations, my opponents see an LTD among three players with OVR's in the 90's. (I'm hardly a model for how to play or how to build a team; I'm just having fun.)
I've never spent a dime on anything after buying the game.
Even so, to build the team I have, you'd need to start by ponying up more than 3.5 million coins. You'd also need to replace 3 90+ OVR NAT players that I earned at the close of the second Field Pass. It's just not feasible to join in mid-November and catch up to what everyone else has built up any time soon. And while that may not be what you're talking about, I mention it here because over the last few days, I've seen a spike in quits by opponents who 1) bail at the presentation; 2) bail after my first possession ends with a touchdown; or 3) bail after their first possession ends without a score. I've also seen a few teams with OVR's in the low 80's. It feels dirty. But to them, they think I'm spending cash on the game.
I suppose my toxic trait is the same as yours, although I don't really get that salty about people who spend money, or who spend more time working the Auction House than I can. I've come to be at peace with playing on uneven ground.
