How are you setting up your defenisve AP now with 9 on that side of the ball? This is what I'm thinking about...
Lurker - 1 AP
Inside Stuff - 2 AP
3 Pick Artist - 6 AP (My 2 safeties and 1 cornerback).

sacrificing inside stuff? 4 pick artist and 1 lurk artist instead?

Going to play with it a bit. I keep pulling that stupid get 3 picks objective 3 times a week, so I've needed picks more than I've needed inside stuff.

Oh man you and me both i hate this Objective so bad.Its been hard to get 1 pick in a game much less 3 normally takes a few to get 3 picks

This is the first time (this season) i've waffled from this style thinking. I had been running PA (x2) on my deep Safeties, then LurkArtist (x3) across my LBs, mostly out of 4-3 Even 6-1, then i turn whatever base defense (typically Cover 4 Quarters) into a double-mable style defense. It's taken me a while to settle on this, i still often revert to DB Fire 2 to run similar concepts in coverage, but with more DBs on the field in obvious passing situations. This gives a level of flexibility I'm not finding with linebackers, for example -- taking away the quick bubble screens / RPOs, i'd want to man up my Slot corner (and shade underneath). All that being said, i do typically find that the 4 man down-lineman packages tend to generate more pressure, organically. Perhaps it's just in my head. D-line adjustments = pinch + slant inside.
And what i think the community means by double-mable is having redundant zones (5-10 yard flats + ~25-30 yard flats) on the same side of the field, with over the top deep Safety help covering their respective half of the field. My responsibility (as USER) is to lock down the middle, or takeaway the primary read(s) and hope for the best.
I'm now considering making the leap to Deep Zone (or perhaps Inside Zone) KO abilities on my deep safeties and dropping the Pick Artist stuff, although this is the first i'm hearing of the 9AP bump on Defense. Very little seems to help, I'm still getting players giving up huge passes while in tight coverage. Using the "Swat" (Square on Playstation) seems to be more reliable than Triangle, which i've grown accustomed to relying upon. YMMV, good luck.

I've been meaning to ask if anyone has suggestions for how to work around this -- so tedious, oof. I'm getting a LOT more picks in Man coverage, but it remains a real challenge. I often need to play on Rookie mode to finish these requirements.
My personal approach, typically running Cover 2 Man:
If all else fails, Rookie mode it is. UGGH.

My personal approach, typically running Cover 2 Man:
- Press (or Pinch entire defense)
- Shade underneath
- Individually back off outside corners
- if opponent overloads one side of the field, such as Trips, etc. then i will also Shade Inside
If all else fails, Rookie mode it is. UGGH.
Well 1st off this year you dont need to play on anything but Rookie all the other levels mean nothing so FYI stop doing it as its 100% not needed.

I saw a post this morning where someone was talking about playing solo battles on All-Madden and I was like, why are you doing that? H2H and Champs are sweaty enough. No need to add more stress by playing solo battles on anything but Rookie.

Thank you for the pro-tip, definitely an aspect i've mostly overlooked. I never understood what those tiers even meant, or were intended for, the "ranking" system seems pointless and absurd. Appreciate you taking me to school and confirming this. Will without a doubt save me a bunch of time moving forward to just Chew Clock and grind out the Solo Battles on easy mode. I typically don't hate that mindless grind after wr0k. I have to be in the correct frame of mind to dive into online H2H play, it's a very different experience for me, personally.
Since EA "fixed" Solo Battles (allegedly they have not, i'll find out this evening), all the opponent teams now seem to show up as absolute minimum 72-73 OVR rated teams, so even playing on Legends difficulty, it's a pretty simple grind. I'm not putting up 100 points and able to waltz down the field on each and every play, but the AI / cpu opponents don't put up much of a fuss. I need the practice fitting balls into tight windows, gosh how the game improves now that we're able to acquire velocity abilities. Just added Kurt Warner last evening as my 1 of 3 All Madden pack reward.
Even with 9AP on defense, i am not looking forward to facing more and more folks running SFL. Terrible reads that would have been obvious deflections (or picks) in the past are now completions with multiple defenders just 1-2 strides away from being able to make a play on the ball. Literally a game-changing ability.
