No that wouldn’t make sense cuz the Texans have absolutely nothing to do with the oilers, the titans ARE the oilers so that’s why they get the chems
Both franchises moved.
Both franchises changed their names.
Both of the original cities (Houston & Cleveland) have gotten new teams.
The only difference is Houston is now using the name "Texans" and Cleveland is continuing to use the name "Browns".
The Tennessee Titans became the Tennessee Oilers who became the Tennessee Titans. They are a completely separate entity than the Houston Texans with zero relation besides a city where they once were located.
By that line of thinking that anyone who played in a city no matter the franchise gets the current city franchise's chem how would you handle the Jets and Giants. They both play in New York. If your answer is "but they are different franchises" then you have your answer about former Oilers getting Texans chem.
Jhays45 said:I get the the argument and I feel for you supporting the newest franchise in the league, but they are just that the newest franchise they have no ties to the Oilers so no claim to their stars which would include the players who played whole careers in Houston such as Earl Campbell They became the Titans and the Texans are a new entity. It’s like the Dallas Cowboys have no claim to former Dallas Texans players they became the chiefs and The Ravens should not get colts they came about after the colts went to indy.
I kinda agree with but mut aside houston should have claims to their stars like houston stores should be able to sell oilers jerseys as a houston team. Texans related things shouldnt have texans stuff. Titans get oilers stuff in team related stuff.
ChunkyYoda45 said:It is prob because I live near houston, if I was texans fan in colorado I wouldn't feel connection to the city but to the team. It's just the fact that the oilers moved relatively recently I still think they are part of houston. But if I was a raiders fan I wouldnt be asking for rams/chargers chems lol.
28 years ago is moving relatively recently???

I agree with you the Oilers are a big part of the sports history of the city of Houston so the oilers merch should be sold there and easy to get but technically the money made from that is going to be owed to the Titans ownership which gets into the MUT and team chemistry of it all thats why Oilers get Titans chems and not Texans regardless of geography it has to do with the franchise rights. I think the Oilers throwbacks are some of the best looking jerseys of all time so I would wear that for sure

Yeah I agree now its just that I want to use bruce matthews on my tt and he played the majority of his career here so I was thinking he would belong on the houston tt regardless of franchise and stuff. The oilers jerseys on mut should say houston oilers not titans because the jerseys were while they were in houston. But ea cant put in enough effort to make the logos and names so it makes sense.
