Also if you do the 98 RR set on playstation and then sell the 98 you make 30k but I'm too impatient to do that so its partly my fault I don't have any coins

We know that these OVR ratings technically do not matter one-bit, correct?  I mean, i get it, we all love seeing those shiny gold 99 ratings on our squads at this time of year, but it's somewhat misleading for folks to think that these ranking systems actually determine the quality of our roster.  Perhaps used as a general starting point is helpful, especially for new players, but i was seriously deceived by this as a first time MUT player (back in December).

Fantastic thread.  I assume we'll all be running Josh Allen as QB1 and should have a choice between Justin Jefferson (WR) and Sauce Gardner (CB) as our AKA bonus item, if i'm understanding this correctly.  Who will YOU be choosing, offense or defense for bonus player card?  How long will it realistically take us to begin building out proper theme teams, is this achievable before November?  I want to be competitive and since i started `23 late, halfway through the season, i felt liek i was playing catch-up all year.  I did ultimately drop my pre-order, so much to learn as we head into the new game / season.

Doh, somehow i missed this post when skimming through the thread -- this is the exact type information i'm here for.  Can you make any other recommendations for a fairly new MUT player heading into a new year?  What type of general information will be useful or relevant?  I started late (December) and finally have the basics of gameplay and abilities, etc. down, but i have zero frame of reference for how the game will be from August through November.  Heck, the Christmas present promo was ridiculously overwhelming for me at the time... i just know i was happy to have a fully upgraded Hufanga for my 49ers TT, which i wasn't able to fully complete until the specific theme team packs dropped in the marketplace.

My ultimate goal heading into the year will be to create yet another 49ers theme team, however i also want to remain "competitive" (whatever that looks liek for me, personally).  So i don't want to run a bunch of 70s golden cards when we have these full RP set pieces to choose from.  Not sure what other specific context would make sense.  Appreciate any ideas or suggests you may have.  What are YOU doing to prepare?  Or what could you teach a new player?

I'm operating under the assumption that our RP sets will be somewhat relevant for at least the first ~month, but that's speculation on my part.  I know nothing.

Well it’s really hard to plan a whole lot without knowing where these RP will land. I’m guessing 82 at best but a team of 82’s is something that can at least get you through some solos. 
 

One thing I would suggest if you haven’t done so already is get the team chem cards in the season 5 pass. There are 3 of them. That will allow you to run 4 of the RP players with the 49er theme team you want. One thing to keep in mind though is theme teams are tough at the beginning. There are usually several holes to fill. Again, not knowing where the ratings are makes it tougher to plan a whole lot but you can use the regs ratings as a guide for planning. For me personally I don’t worry too much about a theme team for the first few weeks. I will go ahead and save my backups and gold players of my team to already have them in place and ready to roll. 

My goal out of the gate is to build the best OVR team I can with no regard to theme team, get through some solos and stack coins.  If you bought the deluxe edition be very strategic with your points. Last year they had BND lineups you could get for like 2800 points. Offense or Defense. This could give you a boost and allow you to sell some of the higher cards to stack coins. It’s not a bad option IMO but I’m not planning on going that route. I’m savings points for discounted packs and bonus store offers. I will do something around the platinum players if it fits my needs. Last year I had Deebo Samuel, Pitts, Lindstrom and a few others that I used in my lineup.  Obviously more expensive but they hold value well and your quick sell value is the worst that you will ever do. So, buy a need for 58k coins with a quick sell value of 40k is a 18k rental for an upper end card. Not a bad way to maximize coins. 

So basically I have a couple of paths playing out in my head but won’t get to concrete until I see more of what we are going to be having on day 1.

ABSOLUTELY wonderful post, thank you kindly.  Especially the paragraph detailed your personal goals "out of the gate" that's almost exactly what i was hoping for.  Stacking coins for later in the season will be the ultimate goal -- I did end up grabbing the Deluxe edition for $89.99 and will probably renew my EA Play subscription for another year, that was probably worth the ~thirty bucks we spent last summer.  Now i'm not trying to get a MUT Economics degree, some folks seem to spend more time on the auction house than they do with actual gameplay, but having the knowledge and ability to acquire / build profitable sets or use those various methods to fund my roster and team building for the rest of the season would be incredible.  I certainly understand that there are many unknowns as we head into the new season.
