I run a 51/50 combine theme team, should I add the ltd Julio Jones or the TOTY Tyreek Hill? Julio cost a bit more but I have just over 20 million so that is not an issue, just wanting gain insights has to which card may be better or WR1?
I've not used the TOTY Tyreek Hill, but just doing a side by side comparison, Julio is the better card by far.

Try them both out,you have plenty of coin.

Fair point

It's not even close, Tyreek is fine and all, i'm sure 99 base SPD is nice, but it's not as big a deal as many of us (myself included) have made it out to be this year. Most WR abilities are trash, but at least Combine gives you the option of running an X-factor... something liek YAC `Em Up being on all game (after 9 plays) makes those vastly superior. None of these TOTY options are worth mentioning, maybe Fred Warner and Sauce Gardner... the rest, meh. Mid at best.

Julio easily but why do u run 51/50 combine? Unless you get to 60, may as well drop it down to 40 and get another chem over 25
I run 43 combine, 50 SB and my squad gets to 98 OVR not including TOTY cards

I want to get some of the other elite toty cards, as the sb promo is becoming more obsolete as time goes on. I have 3 99's on the team currently. I do have George K. at de but as that is the only sb card I wanted to keep.

Super Bowl TT > TOTY cards. Woth SB chems Sapp and Whitworth are probably still the best cards at their position...Plax is still a top 5 WR... Kam and Jayir.....plenty of viable SB chem cards better than TOTY. With 50 SB chem and 40 Combine I'm at 7 or.8 99's on my squad currently...
Point was that you don't need more than 40 combine chem right now I think

We will see how it progresses, as I am not sure how much longer 95 ovr will be competitive and probably just comes down to personal preference. To add context, prior to this weekend I had been rolling with the playoff theme team and had just been stacking coins for the past month. I had no issue competing against the sb theme teams even with a lower quality playoff theme team, so my opinion of the sb team is very low.

Overalls and even stats don’t matter for the most part over a certain threshold. So the people above are absolutely correct in saying the SB cards are still better than most of the 97s that Dropped today for TOTY. This is an abilities based game, you need to be able to have the most abilities on the field for cheapest. So that’s why SB Ji’yar Brown is so valuable for example, deep zone ko, pick artist, and if you have a token LIU mid zone ko all for 1ap or the other 2 and LIU reinforcement for 2 ap. Once we start getting more cards with 0 ap abilities it’ll be worth it to start switching but right now there is just no incentive except for a couple random new ones like a few combine like julio

Yikes, may want to take another look into the Superbowl and/or Combine squads. Many of us have been running 99 SPD players (on both offense and defense) with multiple discounted ability buckets and some very good 0AP options as a result of the 70/70 Superbowl (and hybrid) theme teams, which is not very difficult, nor expensive to build, especially lately. Although, i don't keep up on price action, so don't quote me on that.
OVR rating Does. Not. Matter. Stats barely do, abilities are essentially the ONLY thing that matters now that we're entering the end-game. That alone is what sets the SB theme team (and Combine, as well) apart. No X-factors with TOTY, which automatically makes them much less viable. YMMV, play however you want, but for anyone hoping to field a competitive squad, this is the path forward. TOTY is not it. Martyr has absolutely fantastic advice and personal knowledge and first-hand experience with almost ALL of the top-end cards. I have come to very much respect and appreciate the information he blesses us in the community with, there are very few aspects of the game he's not intimately familiar with. It would behoove all of us to heed his words of wisdom.

THANK YOU! Oh my goodness, i'm shouting this stuff til i'm blue in the face -- pains me when folks mistakenly think that the OVR ratings are a significant indicator of a card's impact. Abilities are EVERYTHING.
This is perhaps THE most important information any new Madden player can hope to digest and truly understand. It does at times seem counter-intuitive, but after a ~thousand hours of MUT gameplay, it's exactly correct.

Couldn’t agree more cause I get it, you see that brand new 97 come out and you must have it. But 9/10 times you compare those cards and most of the lower Overall cards actually either has more desirable stats in certain areas or the abilities blow it out of the water. Which is crazy, but EA knows what they are doing to get people to want those new cards, especially newer players that may not know any better. There’s been Many times I’ve been in a game online and That person isn’t running any abilities whatsoever which is a death sentence especially on defense. You need KOs everywhere. At one point someone had shared a link that showed exactly what the thresholds were for each stat and such and youd be surprised. 90 zone coverage is the same as 95 for example if I remember correctly, don’t quote me but it gives you an Idea of what I’m talking about. It’s also funny what they do to cards to get them to a certain overall, like that free CB Wiggins card. He’s a 93 if you upgrade with training or whatever but if you compare him to anyone below him overall wise, there is no way he’s a 93. My playoff darrelle revis is a 91 or 92 yet has way better coverage stats by a ton. Only thing Wiggins has going is the speed but 99 speed isn’t gonna help with your 88 man and zone.

No offense but the players you were going up against, if they had 70/70 SB ,.were. not very good if you were feeling competitive with a playoff TT against them
You are really missing the important points here that people.are. trying to te you. I can promise you that 95 OVR JaYir Brown with 70/70 Or even 50/70 SB chem is a better SS (non user) than 97 TOTY Jabrill Peppers. 97 LTD Delpit, 96 Woodson, etc.
First, he boosts up +3 speed, etc and he gets better abilities for cheaper. Bro abilities and chems rule over a.card's OVR

Currently running with the 2 combine safeties and I am dummying players defensively right now, especially those who are still dumb enough to not upgrade to the combine theme team/ and filling in the gaps with 97+ who have great abilities. Point I am trying to make is that is a wise idea to sell the sb team now while they still have some value. You can keep attempting use but the disadvantage that you will be at is just going to continue to be greater.
