Traditionally, you want to put taller receivers like Calvin on the outside and short receivers like Hill in the slot.
In most Maddens, height is one of the most important attributes for deep contested catches on jump balls. Often times these plays are more likely to occur on the routes run by receivers on the outside. Thus that's where you put the taller receivers.
Typically, you just want your slot receiver to get open. The majority of your slot receiver's routes aren't going to lead to jump balls where height is going to be a major factor. That's not to say slot receivers don't run deep routes. It's more that typically if your slot runs deep routes, it's because your calling that route because you think it's open.
Now it's my understanding height seems to be less of a factor this year. Change of direction and route running seem to be important this year. Though, there haven't been many good tall receivers this year so I wonder if that will change as the year goes on and we get more of those.

That was great, thanks for the response
If you're using a run heavy scheme it is beneficial to put bigger WR's & even TE's in the slot as to help with the run blocking outside the tackles. Especially helpful on stretch and outside zone run plays & read/option. On top of that the bigger guys with the highest catch in traffic rating go into the slot as they're taking heavy contact on catches over the middle & in H2H matchups you have those taller guys who matchup better vs the taller sub LB's people like to user.
