So I’m playing online rn against some guy and I’m beating them 29-6 and I went to pause menu to try to make them quit but they won’t quit or resume the game. There should be something to let you go back into the game in situations like this

Pause glitching yourself is a choice. 

For next time, when you pause, just resume game once and don't cancel it

Welp you effed up when you paused it yourself lol. When you're putting BTA to someone like that just keep playing eventually they will quit or use that opportunity to level up your mut level

Am I missing something here? If I pause the game, and then go to resume it, I can't assume that my opponent will be forced to resume after as many as thirty seconds pass?

If you pause and resume, it'll give your opponent a timer.   Ofthey don't resume, the game will unpause after that 30 second timer.

Does it matter? He needed a glass of water? Did he say how much time was left in the game?

Or am I missing something? Did he break some unwritten rule? It seems to me there are so many more things that are unsportsmanlike than pausing the game.

He said he paused it to make the guy quit. Can you read?
