My only issue is that I wish there was a lineup so you could put players where you want them before loading into a game. Pretty dumb when you have to move around a bunch of guys to get the lineup you want

It's been really jarring for me to go back and forth between using my regular team and then adjusting back to no abilities. I've struggled with this more than seems reasonable.
I know how to build a team, my opponents are just literally heaving the ball up, blind throws into traffic and tend to move the ball up and down the field. I'm holding dudes to three on so many opening drives, if not turn over on downs... but gosh I'm bad at this. But getting better, progress has remained slow. About to take another stab at it, guess I only have 2 tokens left before I need to earn or buy more.
Good luck, hope you're able to secure one or both of the Draft promo 99s. EA-gods please have mercy on all of our souls. 🏆
Can’t even get my rewards or games to track so this mode is absolutely pointless for me smdh 🤦♂️
DB and WR have been the two most important positions for me so far. I've been cooked by to many good WR because I don't have any DB's.
Drafting 2 safeties is a must as well to have safeties in sub packages instead of LBs
This is a guide I made a while ago to help a user that was struggling and I figured it would be useful here, so here you go.
1st pick - Playbooks.
here try to pick any defensive playbook you like, or look up some of the formations these playbooks have. Most offensive playbooks have similar formations, so unless you reallyyy like the offense in on of them, prioritize defense.
2nd pick - QBs.
here, try to pick the most mobile qb. Try to search up their release and see if you like that one. Big Ben has a small chance of being a pick, so see if you can get him. Any QB with baked on abilities is a W. For me, the best QB is Perry.
3rd and 4th picks - Offense.
Here, try to pick a good RB and WRs. Try to avoid O-line, as it’s not really useful since none of the op abilities run on the D-line are active here. Prioritize skill positions.
5th pick - LBs
If Gronk appears, pick him, otherwise stay away from MLBs because they don’t have lurk artist. You will most likely be using a safety as your user, so in this round, pick a solid OLB. Fast and with good block shedding should work.
Rest of the draft
CORNERS CORNERS CORNERS. You will get cooked if you don’t have corners. Try to pick your user here too, a good safety should do. Try to pick needs for your team, cuz an 88 could screw you. In summary, just stay away from o-line and d-line, they don’t matter much here.
right and also skip the extra playbooks.
This game mode is so fucking ass LOL

More wonderful tips, thank you so much for taking the time to post (or re-post) here for our benefit. I hit twenty wins to acquire Lindenbaum, finally... took multiple days of grinding to reach that, oof. I need to git gud. Thankfully i stumbled into a Lamar for my real squad, so hopefully it's not the end of the world that i fail to achieve the uhhh freebie Caleb Williams, i assume is who everyone will be getting, correct?
My lack of familiarity with many of these playbooks might be part of the problem. I can make most defenses work, it hasn't been difficult to land on one that gets a Dollar formation, but folks start running the ball and i need to adjust out of dollar, even if it is somewhat rare. It's a passing league, after all.

I feel you, I spent several hours trying to get my first 5 wins. This mode is great but sometimes it can feel like bs. I’ll definitely try to get my Caleb.

Truth right here; really at a disadvantage or advantage depending on the luck of the draw on your draft.
I saw this post, and took courage, but what's your tip for a draft where you don't get a single runningback option, nor a decent cornerback? I got Roethlisberger, but my offensive line couldn't hold up against the rush long enough for my 88's to get open.
I got stripped on my first possession. Even though my opponent spammed stretch runs all game, I kept him out of the end zone until he got a pick-six.
Terrible, horrible, awful mode. I have been victimized repeatedly with terrible draft options, while my opponents hit the field with abilities in key spots. And then I get RNG'd on top of it all.
I'm done hearing about the so-called strategies. This mode hates me, and I'm done with it.

The only thing you can do if you don't have a decent corner is hope the other team has the same problem.

Wish they had a H2H with no abilities tbh

same, I prefer madden to be more offensive. Even when it's tough to get stops. A shootout is always more fun and exciting than a frustrating defensive battle full of conservative offense.
