Too many Sweaty Meta Opponents... game is coming to a dead end fast.

just Lost in the playoffs to someone who spammed gun bunch offset and double post and rpos the entire game. this game sucks when u play a season for 3-4 hours and do good just to get fucked by someone who pays for ebooks and studies the meta plays like it's their full time job. So frustrating man. Soon it'll just be only Meta players playing eachother online because they've pushed all the even remotely casual players away. Congrats to them I guess. Jesus Christ.

Sad isn't it? The game was actually fun in the beginning of the year, it's a disaster now and not fun at all. You can adjust all you want and learn all you want, the game is fucked regardless. Most games aren't even football, it's guys trying to be like the MCS guys and flipping the play, making 50 adjustments, and manipulating the AI. Too many bail out abilities and too much random garbage to really sit there and stress about it. 
 

and before someone says "learn to adjust" stop. A 6 year old can watch a youtube video of bunch and run it how the youtubers do, if the game wasn't a broken piece of shit then offense would actually be tough the way it should be. There is nothing to adjust to when your x factors and abilities are literally cancelling out any adjustments a person makes.

Exactly it was way more fun earlier in the year when it wasn't non stop sweaty meta crap all game long. Even when I beat them , the games themselves aren't fun at all because theyre all doing the same exact shit over and over and it just isn't enjoyable.

And yeah bro. I know a decent amount of adjustments, but once my opponent flips the play 3 times, motions his receiver to the other side of the field, calls 6 hot routes, and then calls a completely different play what the hell am I supposed to do. i agree, they're all just copy and paste everything they see Henry and all the comp players do. It sucks they don't understand that it's just a game, they treat it like it's life or death and don't care if they abuse the AI all game to win. I grew up playing MUT and I remember glitchy meta plays in the past, but I'm not sure anything tops this year. It's honestly ridiculous. Thank u for the response tho bro I was pissed after that game

No problem man. This is one of the only games i play so it's tough for me to just quit. I've been playing MUT since 18, barely playef 22 and took 23 off so i was returning this year. It's nothing but  a glitchy cheesefest garbage AI piece of shit with x factors everywhere

There's still the odd game to be had. These days I just quit out of games with morons - its not worth my time. Sure, winning Superbowls is probably no more but the rewards were dogshit anyway.

What kills me is the never ending celebration you're forced to watch. EA does realize that celebrations aren't classy right? They preach this positive play bullshit but they allow the most toxic shit ever in Madden

as someone who runs ebooks lol, I get where you’re coming from but you can also usually tell if somebody knows what they’re doing. If they just run double post and RPOs you know to guard double post in offset and the rpo everywhere else. It’s when they pair it with a brain that it becomes slightly harder

that said, here’s a couple pieces of d advice

against bunch offset you really only need to guard the bunch flat, the runningback and the outside bunch receiver MOST of the time. If they start to mix in the solo side bunch receiver or the point receiver react accordingly

as for RPOs the worst ones are “read” RPOs where the runningback and the bubble are on the same side and the qb has the option to keep. The solution there is to make sure you guard the bubble with someone other than the read key. The read key will be in charge of reading the quarterback, no matter what you do with them, so adding to numbers on the bubble side can help make sure the qb can’t put him in conflict (I like to man up my slot corner or sam LB to the bubble and then put my user where the read key would be for a read option)

lmk if this helps dude, hopefully you can get people with no eyeballs to quit instead of having to cost yourself a loss just for trying to play some John madden football :))

ps - I do run bunch offset and all the other shit you hate, but I hope you know some of us try to put strategy behind it, at least when we’re smart and not calling double post into double coverage lol. I am sorry for how common it’s become tho

For me I don’t have an issue with the group celebrations but a lot of these would draw taunting penalties IRL. Group celebrations where you pretend to like, roll the ball like its dice and everyone falls over or whatever can be fun for everyone involved but the just pointing and or celebrating on the way to the end zone is just a weird thing to encourage

Appreciate it, but lifes too short and I'm too old to make multiple adjustments pre snap! If someone wants to win 2000 coins so badly they're prepared to forget its supposed to be a game of football, then take the coins man and I'll go find someone else to play.

What I see a lot in complaints like this is that they just want stock plays to work like they do in a solo battle. My biggest piece of advice to players who expect this is to learn how to play zone match defense, and select packages that match what your opponent is doing. Even then you're going to have to make adjustments against a more skilled player, but more often than not you won't have to adjust at the line as much against lesser skilled players. If your opp runs a lot, then use a base backage. If they mix it up, maybe you live in nickel for a while. They're pass happy, start adding DBs to the formation.

It's about as good as it's going to get if you don't want to make too many inmdividual adjustments on defense. But it is a learning curve bc your players act by certain rules in match coverage.

Yeah a cover 3 seam is lots less breakable than a quarters or palms

The problem to me is how EA slow-rolled the game in the beginning of the year.  They lowered the starting OVR by 2, which I thought was a great move, and were very slow in rolling out discounted abilities, again a great move in my opinion.   However, they have now rushed to "catch up", and in the last 3-4 weeks have started wholesale dumping discounted abilities in the game.  For example, we went from no Unstoppable Force to now having an entire D-line with Unstoppable Force, all at a discount.
