What combination of abilities make up GAMBIT?

I continue to hear a bunch of mixed reports on what exactly the Gambit ability is.

The best quarterbacks learn to take calculated risks. When they enter the zone, they can't be intercepted by AI defenders) and have increased throw speed.

Some folks are trying to insist that this also has a velocity (SFL/PLE) component, but I've been operating under the opinion that it is Gunslinger only, plus whatever the "cannot get picked off by AI defenders" stuff.  Sounds fishy to me.  I don't have Burrow to test it out, but i'm curious as I'm trying to adjust my offense (from Brady) to get a bit more mobile with my QB.  Roll-out game/glitch is essentially impossible to defend from what little i gather.

If you can't beat em, join em, i guess.  Oof.  I can't really stomach Mahomes with Slinger 2, but i might finally try out that RG3 card I've been holding onto.

I know in previous years running gambit for the can't be picked by AI part has always been a bit questionable. Probably because cpu defenders with pick artist and lurk artist still can still intercept you. And I think we all know there's a good chance almost every defender in coverage will have at least one of those as an ability. And good players who notice you're running gambit will just click on anyway. But maybe that's changed this year

Not sure about the velocity component. Would love to know more about this as well.

It's not completely on topic but using Burrow means you'd have to spend 3 ap for qb playmaker when Brady gets it for 0 ap as part of master tactician. Haven't used Burrow and his additional mobility could be enough to make up for that. But qb playmaker can really bail you out and create some big plays in situations where you would otherwise be locked up. Like I said not completely on topic but just something to think about before committing to switching to Burrow

Gambit sounds like the old x-factor called Gambler which includes a velocity ability. That x-factor was coded as follows:

• Pasing_AdjustPassAway FromDefenders
• Pasing_PassSpeedMod
• Pasing_Disableinterceptions
• Passing_PassStrengthMod

Sorry I don’t have the updated coding for the latest x-factors.

THANK YOU, this is impeccable words of wisdom and advice, as always.  Genuinely appreciate your expertise and opinion.  I've totally snoozed on Playmaker in the game, as in... i've very rarely used it, only during this (M24) cycle did I even learn how to properly playmaker, by flicking the right stick in whatever direction (to make the nearest receiver move) -- I get killed over and over by competent opponents playmakering a HB or whatever from the middle of the field, sending them streaking downfield to find soft spots in my coverage.  I need to work that into my arsenal.

Spent last evening tinkering with RG3, running a 6AP stack on him (Gift-Wrapped, Gutsy Scrambler, Gunslinger, Roaming Deadeye, SFL & Master Tactician) and trying to convert to the Run Balanced playbook, was using a few formations, such as Trey Offset, then audibling down to something liek Ace Double Wing) to prevent an opponent from being able to Bottleneck Man Press.  That Conductor aspect of MT is way more impactful than the hot route stuff at the moment, it's really great as you pointed out.  Would be difficult to give up.  I did finally have to give up on my 1AP Threat Detector with big Jon Runyan, but thankfully still had the 99 FAP BND set waiting to open, so i made it work and was able to get Post Up on both outside tackles (for the obvious double-team necessary to pull off the roll-out scheme).  Don't quite have it dialed in yet, but we'll see if I'm able to make it work.

This is a huge change, as i'm basically a statue in the pocket, so Brady fits my playstyle just fine -- but he's not gonna evade all the 95+ SPD D-linemen, or linebackers chasing him down.

WHOA, thank you very very much for posting this ability breakdown.  Wasn't finding anything relevant on the MUT Abilities site.  Why is it so difficult to understand the basics of what these abilities do?  PassSpeedMod sounds liek Gunslinger and PassStrengthMod = SFL/PLE (velocity) ability, hrmm.  Interesting stuff.

Thank you again for this wonderful insight.  After an extremely long time away from Madden, it's an entirely new game for me to try and learn.  First I've heard of Gambler.  Appreciate you, Don. 👊
