Seriously though, resurrecting night train lane from the dead got old quick. They need to make more cards of current players instead of players from like the 50’s! Like how does darnold or Watt not have an upgrade
Yeah I want an insane Justin fields or George Pickens card
I like the fact they have legends in the game, it’s what makes ultimate team ultimate team instead of just franchise, I do wish we got more content as a whole though
Yeah I agree, but addding Otto graham and stuff is a bit of a stretch

Why is it a "stretch?" Otto Graham is one of the all-time NFL greats.

not a stretch but 95% of the fan base 30 or younger could care less about players from the 40s lol.
I would argue that to completely appreciate a sport, you must also appreciate its history. I'm also a big Formula One fan and I love to read about and see video clips of legendary drivers like Niki Lauda, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark, etc. If EA were to limit the Legends program to only players who played in the 80s, 90s, and 00s, they might as well not even have it at all.

I played the sport so I have appreciation for the Xs and Os but not so much the pioneers. Could care less what they did in the leather helmet era, that’s not the game I grew up playing. If anything I feel a lot of the players back then weren’t given a fair opportunity to showcase their talents with the politics and civil rights sentiments at the time.

It's a decent reason why they shouldn't be in the game tbh.
Imagine an F1 game with Jackie Stewart in his Matra MS80. Manual gearbox. No DRS, PAS/DAS, ECU etc etc etc. Top speed somewhere around 115mph. He'd get minced.
So would all but a handful of MUT Legends. Randy White was a DT at 250lbs FFS. Its stupid. I'm all for educating people about the history but there should be historical teams playing historical games for that. Stewart racing his old banger against other old bangers - that'd be great fun but against a modern F1 car? Its the same with Madden; playing the 1967 Championship game would be amazing but chucking the same bunch of dead guys randomly into the 2024 version of football (often as the best players in the game) just to sell packs is crap.
Why do we care so much what the "30 and under crowd" wants? Theyre rhe ones who ruined the game in the first place. Well, EA did but it was on their behalf. Casuals/younger crowd who likes the deformed version of football we have irl today, which is a glorified 7 on 7 drill. Idk why these people didnt just support arena football more before it died instead of trying to turn the NFL into a toned down version of it.
Personally, I believe legends/past players are an important part of MUT and I have no issues with NFL players from all eras of the game being included. Legend/past player specific programs should exist but I think they should have their own unique programs/promos and not be mixed in with "current" programs
I also think that there should be a greater emphasis placed on current teams/players with closer tie-in to what is actually happening in the NFL from week-to-week.
TOTW is essentially the only program that is tied to current events in the NFL and it has been reduced to near meaninglessness.
Maybe, if each teams players progressed weekly based on on-field performance, that could be a start.
Possibly a weekly program that is based on the actual NFL schedule? Perhaps something along the lines of the "journey" programs of the past
Each week the NFL awards offense, defense and special teams "players of the week" for each conference. This could be a nice supplement to TOTW where the NFL's players of the week get unique, one-off cards and they could be earned through special challenges.
The NFL also has "players of the month" and there could be a program designed around that as well.
And while this might not be particularly popular, please cease and desist with all out-of-position programs except maybe for those players that actually played significant snaps on both sides of the ball.

is 90% of the fan base really 30 or under. I would be surprised if it was. there's a lot of us old timers that still play. I guess I could be wrong ( I am old LOL)

🤣🤣 I’d say around 80%. These forums represent maybe like 10% of the hardcore MUT heads.
