Alright guys, I’ve taken a couple of years off MUT and Madden in general. Played CFB but the hype died off very quickly for me, made me realise I’m an NFL man and much prefer ultimate team so I’m picking up M25.
How many of you are joining me and what are you most hyped for?

Hahah yeah good point, I’d say returning to you, I was an avid MUT player for 7 years up until two years ago when I had a bit of MUT burnout!

I think you'll find that not much has changed, although there are quite a few folks who still prefer the last-gen / PS4 version of the gameplay. I've lost count of how many veterans with significant Madden/MUT experience outright refuse to try the latest rendition of the game. If you're coming from CFB, i doubt you'll require more than an afternoon to ease back into MUT. Very little has changed.
Figuring out what abilities actually work (let alone on PS5), versus what were elite on PS4 will be half the battle. I'm late to the party, after decade(s) away from Madden, i just started dabbling again in M22, as it was a freebie with PSN subscription, before ultimately diving into MUT right before Christmas during M23 cycle. I'm easily a 1000+ hours into M24... tried to retire, but failed after dropping pre-order when we grabbed CFB late last week, via MVP bundle, for both games. Welcome back, man!

but i’m still waiting for MUT 25 skipped NCAA 25 gunna pick it up on sale later on for Dynasty

im not sure on these abilities, last version I played they were very overpowered and I lost interest, I’m a fan of sim football. But got the itch so I guess we’ll see how it goes.
I’m hoping the content is good this year.

EVERYTHING in this game is based on abilities. Stats barely matter, everything is based on minimum thresholds. September & October will be peak MUT for you, although i have an extremely difficult time passing the ball until we get Set Feet Lead or Pass Lead Elite (velocity abilities) on our QBs.
Despite the overall sad state of the game, it's basically a buggy ass mess, but the content was consistently dropped throughout the year. Heck, in EA's defense, they managed to somehow move the meta forward as late as May or June 2024. Kind of impressive for a game that was headed for its dying gasps. Most of the content was mediocre, at best, but the mere fact they gave us NEW stuff all through July, that felt pretty special. Anything to keep those pack sales rolling along.
Speed still matters greatly, until everyone has speed in the mid- to high-90's, and after that, everything my esteemed colleague peatrick says about abilities is true.
I wasn't at all impressed with EA's efforts to tune gameplay once the MCS season had ended. For the last three months, only a handful of the most challenging games were fun games against gamers with actual football acumen. In most of these more difficult games, people were alternately spamming stretch runs, RPO's, and coverage AI-defeating route combos that turned MUT 24 into an excessively complicated and clunky version of Rock-Paper-Scissors.
MUT can be so much more than it is, but it's enough fun most of the time that I expect to purchase the non-Deluxe version of the title.

Good to know. I also have a thing for building against the META. I hate anything remotely META lol. So see how that plays out I guess.
