First year of mut, sorry if this is a dumb question. I see some people with no backups at certain positions in their lineups, which positions should I have backups at and what can be left empty?
I stack my team with great backups because many are on the special teams and can cause some problems for opponents.
Linebackers. Backups that have high power rating and big hitter trait. So I’d only stick to those 4 backup spots for now. The rest won’t really do anything for you and would waste coin. And try not to overspend on the LB backups either. They are temp until end of year content arrives after the Super Bowl Then you’d want to upgrade.
I try to not use backups to maximize coin and training value cause I don’t use an TT. Also it puts my starters out on special teams which is better. I always have an RB2 and WR4 and WR5 if my other guys get tired, I always have TE2 and 3 because I don’t want to have FBs in on 3 TE sets. On defense I have a CB4/5 for dime and subs and a SS2 and FS2 for anything that’s not 4-3 or 3-4 for users.
I have backups at every position cause fatigue is real and some players will definitely need that rest at times
Only position I don't worry too much about having back ups in are my oline and dline as those positions never play for me (I just use the cheapest cards that can get legends chem in those spots)
On defense, I always make sure I have at least decent back ups at my linebacker spots for special teams reasons. My back up FS, SS, and CBs need to be pretty good as they will play in certain scenarios.
On offense, I really only make sure to have 1 good back up WR and one good back up RB just to sub in for players that get tired. I run a 2 TE set, so I also need a pretty good 3rd TE for the same reason. Back up FB and 3rd string HB are strictly for chem boosts for me.
Get yourself a good HB2, WR4, TE2 and CB4 as a point of priority. And use the other good advice you see here to help you decide which other positions hold the greatest importance to you.
Tip: having a CB4 with a high speed rating can help you block field goals more often than not. No glitch required.
On TT you need them for points
on non it’s good to have for fatigued/subs
when I first started my Legends TT I was using super low overalls as my backups to fill out 40/40 TT requirement but with TVP leaving the store soon I will be upgrading almost all my back up positions to at least a 90 overall. No real benefit to doing that other than the Linebacker ones for kickoffs But I just have OCD about a nice looking team And want everyone to be at least a 90 lol
if you are running a TT than backup every position with your teams chemistry

yes but you have to be careful that u don't have a bunch of 70s playing every other down
I like to backup my fs because then my 3cb don't play fs if my #1 is inside
I always have a couple backup RBs because I always have situational RBs: Jim Taylor as my main guy, Etienne as his sub, and Vita Vea for the goal line. I also like to have 4 good CBs for when I run dime or dollar. The only others positions I have a backup at is TE where I have Dave Casper and Mike Vrabel and WR where I have the sun god Amon-Ra
mainly corner 4 and TE 2 and ussally for my back ups i use bnds that i can't sell

understand my o-line is the only one's that are a 70 ovr. I pay the extra TP for secondary postions for backups. I was just stating the fact of running a TT to have your backups with your teams Chemistry, in any means necessary.
