What are the benefits of motioning players ? I watch a few pro games and they are constantly having movement of their offense. I'm guessing they are seeing what works best against whatever defense their opponent is in? As a player that rarely ever motions or have any movement of my offense what benefit does that give you?
I don't do it myself, but usually motioning players helps pros figure out whether their opponent is in man or zone defense. Usually if it's man defense, someone will follow the motioned player.
I don’t watch any of the pros or youtube videos but I know that moving players on the offense can bring the defenders out of position.
If you’re playing against a Man defense it can change coverage assignments and give you more favorable matchups or make it so one of the defenders is assigned coverage all the way across the field giving them an easy completion.
If you’re playing against zone and Align is set to default in some formations if you motion the outside receiver to the other side of the field the corner will follow and leave that side wide open.
I mostly use motions to give my WR more space on corner routes or as a diversion (When the defense sees a motion or adjustment to one player they tend to focus on them).
Also I have Honorary Lineman on my TE and I will motion him to the other side and snap the ball when he gets to the middle-ish for inside runs sometimes.

I noticed that sometimes I would have a defender playing against a receiver on the other side of the field, now I know why 😆. Thanks
Yes, if you have someone using a lot of motions definitely have to go into coach adjustments and change Align based on if you’re playing man or zone otherwise they will be moving your players/coverage assignments. You can change align or reset your play pre-snap too if needed.
