Why does my QB throw dots to the other team

I have Jerry rice who makes a nice cut on a post route with Michael Vick as my QB and both cards I might add  were very expensive to acquire who is wide open and the game sails one 10 yards right past him to a safety . Now this happens often in this game I’ve noticed . Even a little 5 yard pass over the middle, where my player is nowhere near the vicinity of where the ball gets placed  any professional athlete doing this would be benched, and this is how a legend is being spotlighted in this game ?  Throwing dots to the opposing team?

all-madden seasons? I was on the other end of this and he sailed not 1, not 2, but 4 passes to my DBs. Clean pocket, open receivers. I wanna say they were using RG3 though
