First off I think it’s good that most of the glitch blitzes were patched, I’m not advocating for those in any way.
But why would they nerf nickel and dollar defenses when defense is already so bad? The whole reason people run these defenses in the first place is because EA has made all linebackers liabilities! Unless you have the best possible coverage LTD linebackers in the game, they are going to get torched in both man and zone, and won’t animate to save their lives. I get the realism argument, but instead of not allowing me to have a strong safety in the box so I can user him, just fix linebackers so people aren’t forced to run small sets to have a chance of stopping the pass!
Their answer to this was to add a 1000 training ability. Now yes I have noticed a difference when using lurk artist, but if I have to run an ability just to get cards to behave how they should in the first place then that’s bad game design. I don’t even run dollar myself but I know it got hit hard by the patch, and both big nickel and 3-3 cub got nerfed hard too.
The problem is NOT nickel, dime, and dollar defense. It’s the overturned to hell offense. The reason there are so many ragequits this year is that if you have two semi-competant players then every game is won by whoever gets the first stop. As long as you don’t make huge user mistakes on offense, you can at minimum get a field goal every drive.
I know people hate playing against meta, but the whole reason nickel and dollar are the meta is because there is no other choice. Also they made it so you can‘t audible from nickel 3-3 into 3-3 cub anymore which makes no sense because it’s the same personnel but whatever, classic EA I guess.
