I know its a little early. but CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson have been playing extremely well while young has struggled in every sense of the word. Did the Panthers make a mistake?
TLDR version: No, playcalling sucks, no receivers, still early
Long version: Nope. Actually watch some film before assuming a player is a bust. First of all, he’s played 3 games. There are literally hundreds of hall of famers who didnt dominate in that span.
Now for why he is struggling:
1. 1 is I believe that (on non screens) the Panthers receivers have the least average separation in the league. Still don’t understand why we traded the only receiver on our team for a QB, who now has nobody to throw to except Adam Theilen
2. is playcalling. Frank Reich refuses to give up the playcalling duties, and he is almost as bad as Matt Canada. Every single drive is run for 1 yard, run for 2 yards, screen on third down. Half of Bryce’s passes last week were screens. Reich isn’t letting him show his skill set. I mean look at this: https://twitter.com/WxJargo/status/1708647037032382704
Even Bryce is sick of it: https://twitter.com/1PantherPlace/status/1708891801661083804
3. is pressure. our line isn’t that worst, but it’s dealing with injuries and our rookie RG has allowed the most pressures of the league, with double the amount of the next closest. Luckily our starting RG will be back in a couple of weeks tho.
4. Absolutely unable to rely on the run game. Mediocre blocking, and I stand by the fact that D’Onta Foreman is better than Miles Sanders (product of Eagles o line) and like 20 mil cheaper
Bryce isn’t a bust. He’s showed flashes of his skill, with very few mistakes. He’s just in the worst position to succeed out of the QBs this year.

This is why I made this post. I've seen stuff calling him a busy already. Wanted to see if any Panthers fans that understand whats going on better than an NBC analyst in their basement.
And I never understood the DJ Moore trade. Moore is an elite player thats never had a decent qb to get him the ball (Teddy Bridgewater, Kyle Allen, Mayfield, Darnold, etc).
And as much as I like frank Reich as a person, his play calling is not very good anymore. I think the was his last 1 ½ years with indy ended has him really scared about turnovers and busting on boom or bust plays. He need to let the OC do playcalling.
i dont think hes a bust. his 86 card is too good for me for him to be a bust

I've had to sit through Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz, Phillip Rivers (who was low-key really good), jacoby brissett, sam ehlinger, and nick foles. I get what it's like for a qb to start slow. Best of luck to Bryce Young.

Thanks and yea I feel your QB pain lol. GL w/ Richardson too he’s got potential
And Philip was definitely underrated in Indy Ik he was old but he was still a QB1 that year
