Wait Wait Wait Wait What?

So during the Dallas-Vikings game the Boys had the ball late in the half. Dad threw it to CeeDee for a 27 yard gain the refs ruled it a catch. Then the cowboys called a timeout and kicked a Field Goal (60 yards). Then as people walk to the locker room the refs call everyone one and say their going to make sure Ceedee made the catch!?  A play already happend! You can’t call a play that was in the past! They did nothing to show to stop the field goal from happening so they could redetermine the catch. After review the call stood and it was a catch but they had to kick it again thankfully he made the catch and the result did not change. But what if it did

Pretty sure they decided to rewatch it BEFORE the field goal snap
