Step one- If you are comfortable spending money, get the Legendary Starter Team Bundle, for 2,800 madden points, which is $25. I would pick "Go Deep", and "Send the Blitz", as they give you the best 93s and a good 90 ovr base team.
Step two- Grind out competitive field pass until level 22, where you will get tons of XP, coins, and cards. The two cards specifically are 92 ovr Kurt Warner, and 94 ovr Tremaine Edmunds. Put hot route master, and fearless on Kurt Warner for 3ap, as they are two really good abilities for qbs. You will have to power up Kurt Warner if you do that, which will cost a little over 100k coins which you should have. Put 1ap lurker on Edmunds, which is the best lb ability.
Step three- Do solos! The main ones are the Snowball Fight!, and Frozen Forge. You'll get 93 ovr, Donald Parham Jr., that is arguably the best te in the game due to his height of 6' 8''. You'll also get a few 90 overall snowball players, and XP for the Snowball Fight! solos. The next solos that will take a while but are really good are the legend solos. you'll get about 10-30k coins for each week you do from selling off the cards that you get. You get a free FULL legend if you get all 20 tokens that you need. I would suggest getting Bruce Smith, but don't power him up, as he would be not worth it for the price. I think that a defensive rally is a good ability to put on him for 2ap, even though it's not discounted. The next solos that you need to do, are the Team of the Week solos, which come out every Tuesday. You get a free 84-89 player every week, depending on the week as the overalls progress every few weeks. Then you collect all the tokens that will be put into a set, later on in the year. More solos are the ghosts of mut solos, as I would pick 92 ovr Dameon Pierce, who's not in the lineup above because he is not in the game at the time I'm typing this. I really like this new ability added this year "goal line back", where you get better run blocking inside the five. Put that on Pierce, for 1ap. Do you're Team Captain solos, and pick whoever you want, but if you want the team above, I would take Keyshawn Johnson, and upgrade him all the way up to a 94 ovr, with the tokens you are given through team affinity challenges as well. Those challenges will give you some 88s, and I would pick an 88 ovr Damien Lewis, and sell the other two for 30-40k. The "Welcome to Zero Chill" solos are very quick and easy, and they'll give you a free 90 ovr Terry McLaurin, that has 94 speed. AKA solos will give you a free 93-94 ovr player preferably, and I would take Big Play Slay 94 ovr, to give a boost to your cornerbacks since they weren't good at all in the original "send the blitz" starter bundle. Do you're all madden solos, which you'll get 90 ovr Tony Siragusa to put behind Merlin Olsen, and a PUNTER! Ray guy is the best punter in the game, at a 91 ovr. (RIP to both)
Step four- All of this grinding in the Zero chill solos will get you snowballs that you put into a set for Talanoa Hufanga that you then get a frozen football for doing where you can upgrade him from an 86 to a 90. He should go up to a 92 ovr, as the majority of the community voted for him over Kenny Pickett according to EA.
Step five- Kickers are IMPORTANT. I would suggest getting Justin Tucker 91 ovr redux with your coins, for just about 90k.
Step six- Grinding the Zero chill field pass will get you a free 95 ovr Zero Chill champion. I would pick out-of-position CB Calvin Johnson. Put 0ap Pick Artist on him, which is probably the best DB ability, and deep out zone ko in the final slot. To do this, make sure you're doing your daily objectives every day. You'll also have a key that you can put into a set for a small present. I would spend you're training on the large present for 9,000. As it's almost guaranteed to be helpful to your team. Doing you daily objectives will also net you about 6,000 XP every day.
If you repeat this process for the rest of the year, you should be able to get a maxed out, full 99 ovr team. If you ever need any help, you can always go onto to youtube and watch GutFoxx, Zirksee, or Popular Stranger. I hope this is helpful. This took a lot of time.
