Why does my team always suck after spending millions of coins to upgrade it?

First up: Im not close to being a pro but I also dont suck at Madden. I've won a couple of SBs even in higher ranks and my W/L looks accordingly. 
So I'd consider myself to at least know what Im doing in regards to adjustments,  route combos etc. 

BUT 

Somehow, someway, every single year right after I spend the most amount of coins on my team and upgrade it by like 2 OVRs at once,  I get absolutely cooked.

• JJefferson, Deebo, Ceedee with all kinds of route abilities - nobody gets open.
• Brady with SFL, Slinger and Fearless  - sailing balls left and right. 
• Judon and Lawrence with ED(E) + DON; Simmons with DR and DON  - opponent has time for days
• Slay, Calvin, Deion, Woolen, Simmons, Chinn - getting these terrible stumbling animations like "so close, but couldnt get there" in coverage 

The weirdest part is - I dont see consistency in whats happening in games. You could say thats somewhat realistic but its not how Madden - especially with abilities - is supposed to work. I have Tackles with Edge Protector getting beat insta beat every snap buy 90 ovr pass rushers with no abilities - why?? 

So what is it? Me not running the right abilities/understanding the current meta? Does the gameplay just suck in general? Does EA help my opponents because I have a "god squad" now?

From what you listed our teams are damn near identical.  I’m rockin with Brady/same abilities. Ceedee, Herman Moore, and. Marvin Harrison. Taysom and Parham.  Marshawn at RB.

Same. What bother me the most is when they have some of the same players I do and they play lights out while.mine are stuck in the mud

Just need to run the loop blitz on defense. Overall is irrelevant and beat edge protector. On offense you have to just take what they are giving you. Lots of drags, flats, table routes

The accuracy

My team does the same every time I upgrade a player Elway goes on a throwing the ball crazy for a couple Games

Inconsistency is the thing that troubled me most about this game. very relatable.

I have a lot of these same issues. I’m a 95 OVR as well. Running Bledsoe, Demarco, CeeDee/Herman/Harrison/Ditka on offense. On D every corner is a 96 or higher (Carmichael/Cro/Woodson/Deion) with Peppers/Woodson at S and Lynch/Sean T at Sub LB. 
 

Somehow my team is always susceptible to those QB rollouts to deep corner routes, no matter who they have at WR. Or they’ll line up on trips left Gun and throw a quick screen to the middle WR for 6-7 yards every time. 

I get super frustrated when their LB is able to line up at the line and somehow sprint back in time to leap 10 yards in the air to INT my passes over the middle. I’m not a terrible player, it just seems more than ever, it doesn’t matter about your team’s talent level, it’s all about abilities, and who runs the most cheese/exploit plays over and over and over again.
