Does Anyone Else Have OCD When Building A Theme Team?

When I build a theme team I like my lineup to look all pretty so I only use cards that have the artwork of their team chemistry. For example on my 49ers theme team I can only use players who are wearing a 49ers uniform in their card art.

It’s extremely limiting from a gameplay perspective since I can only use some of the players I should in theory use on a theme team, but I still end up doing it because, uh, it’s satisfying?

Thankfully, EA added the change card art option a few years back. Unfortunately, they stopped making legends pieces with all the teams they had previously played for. Last year Leonard Davis had a 49ers card even though he never started a game for us.

I’ve seen other people who run “true” theme teams. They only use players who have actually played for their team (omitting the dumb all 32 team chemistry cards).

But does anyone else build theme teams like me? Probably not…

I haven't built a Cowboys team yet because there are too many spots I'd have to use "fillers" in and I don't want to do that. If I build a theme team based around guys who play for a team, I don't want guys who have never played for that team on it even if they get the team chemistry. 

I do run a Legends theme team because I enjoy using non active players in MUT, but it is boring as it's pretty easy to build now and nearly everyone is running it because of how OP they made legends this year. 

I actually agree with you too about the card art. Bledsoe is an example of that. If I ran a Dallas team, I would run Bledsoe at QB, but I hate that he doesn't have a Cowboys card art in game to use.

I totally understand your sentiment. I’m having to alternate between Bledsoe and Cunningham on my Cowboys TT because EA hasn’t given us a decent Dak since Harvest. Love playing with CeeDee and Demarco though!

I only build a tt for 2 reasons

I want to use steelers players

And to get that +2 speed

I would run legends but I just don't have the coins for it and I enjoy using the steelers players, usually once I get to 50/50 I just fill everything else in with what's available rn, basically my whole ol and 2 cbs are non steelers rn

I can’t stand having a player with a red circle with the line through it telling me the chems don’t work.
