Title
Secure Protector is the better of the two because I believe it helps with blocking the run better as well as blocking the pass rush too.
The comment above is correct, if you can get SP at the same or cheaper cost than EP, go with SP since it works in the run game as well as pass.

That's not actually correct. Secure protector does exactly what edge protector does except it does it from all positions on the line...

See both descriptions. Both do exactly the same thing . Just from different spots on the O line

One says reduce a rushers chances of a quick block shed move, the other says reduce a pass rushers chance. Its my understanding secure helps with both pass and run from others ive seen lab it, but I haven't extensively labbed it myself..

Not sure what you're suggesting about my comment is incorrect? I said go with SP over EP lol.
SP activates in the run game more because of the fact it works anywhere, not just on tackles, it's the move for Guards and C as well.

Rusher = pass rusher.
They both work against pass rush moves. There's no advantage to using SP over EP with regard to the run game

I have not seen Secure protector light up in the run game any differently than edge protector does, so I think that EP=SP on offensive tackles.
I guess my point is SP does not really help in the rushing game. Zan labbed this and concluded that SP does not work on rushing plays, so I guess that is the part about your comment that I disagree with...EDIT...I just labbed out for about 45. Minutes and I didn't see SP make a differencein the run game. I put it on Will Shields and YAnda. Didn't activate on running plays

The fact that secure protector neutralizes inside stuff tells me it works on run plays. Try that in your lab to see the difference.

Seems it would do the same with no outsiders, though I don't think anyone uses that.

Exactly what I was thinking but I haven't ran into that, I have seen it negate inside stuff though. Basicallymy original point remains that is they're the same cost, sp is more valuable than ep this year.

It doesn't negate inside stuff. ......Inside stuff is just broken in general but I labbed it against inside stuff too . Zan did as well as others. It absolutely does not light up against inside stuff or on amy run play
Again, not trying to be argumentative but you can lab it for yourself. Really.... just go into practice mode in MUT and run different plays with a SP , an EP....and see. SP doesn't do anything differently than EP does and neither ability has any effect on rushing plays.
I'm just trying to give factual responses regarding these abilities. Not telling you how to play or.what abilities to put on your players.

Agree, same here, not trying to argue, just going by what I see in my online play. It lights up and renders inside stuff ineffective for me. Guess we just have different experiences and are showing facts based on what we each see. No worries there
Pros use Secure Protector on their tackles, primarily to stop edge threats and slow down double or nothing.
This is why you see so many use guards OOP at tackle, to get the 1 AP secure protector on the outside.
