I just was wondering if anyone played a majority of MUT squads with friends on next gen. I feel like the game plays a little different then regular WL/H2h seasons so want to pick some members brains on certain topics and issues.
Yeah i play a lot of squads on next gen. it definitely is a lot different from regular h2h
I've only ever played 1 game of squads and that was last year. I didnt know what I was doing, I was a wr. It does Look like a cool concept though.
I’m strictly Squads with 2 of my friends. We all have owned New Gen Xbox’s since they released 2 years ago, but we play on Old Gen Madden for online gaming. Less glitchy stuff we feel.
I rarely go into H2H or MUT Champs.
Yep, I play Defense and my friend for years plays offense. I pick off a ton of passes but never get fumbles. Everyone on our Offense gives up multiple fumbles a game. It’s weird.
I do and I always lose

Do you run Qb or are you def coordinator?

sadly was going to ask about the workarounds/prevent the glitchy stuff

My buddy and I alternate every game of who plays O and plays D
Saw someone in the discord like this..
Me and my buddy play primarily squads, he builds the offense and I build the defense. We’ve been doing that for 4-5 years

-Do you ever have issues with sailing a wide open deep ball( as both the qb or the WR running under it. ) how are your throwing it (free form at like 11 or 1, or like straight up, classic). Seems to sail a lot on squads. And as the Wr I have trouble running under a wide open deep ball, like it will be out of reach?
-Blocking on run plays seems very inconsistent. I assume you are at a high elo, so you are playing the same meta teams, coming out in similar def. Sometimes they are getting gashed and sometimes you are getting blown up behind the line.
-Any general tips you have found as being the WR, as I dont think there is much chance to practice it unless you play a lot of squads. like do you use the right stick to cut, when do you turbo on a route, do you use a release or just run starlight of the line,
Edit; if you see this and do play squads maybe you could elaborate and help me be a better player.

-How do you stop the run in squads(knowing it coming, not like the occasional shotgun run to mix in), with two users. Do you call certain plays, or do you have certain spots you like to sit.
-also as the WR since you are Def coordinator, ill ask the same question as the other guy but do you ever have trouble running under a wide open deep ball, like it will be out of reach?

I’ll try to answer everything best I can.
-yes we most definitely have some issues where we will be wide open and the pass will sail over them resulting incomplete. Some games it happens a hell of a lot more than it should. We both use classic style passing. I personally use my left stick to aim my passes more precisely even on wide open deep ball, especially if the pass needs to be more outside to throw away from a middle safety. As for when I user the WR, I’ll try to time my release with the snap best I can and use the right trigger to turbo to try to get clean release and burn the db, once Ive gained a step on him and the pass is in the air, I’m tapping X(xbox) to RAC and will use Y to aggressive catch if a defender catches up and makes it contested. More so to prevent INT.
-blocking is inconsistent but I believe it all depends on the level of your O-line and just how good of a defense you are versing. I’ve noticed in squads you have to really adjust your play calls to counter what they are running, because you got 2 users and most people are good at baiting an INT so in squads the game really breaks down and one mistake can cost you the entire match. If you aren’t getting a second in the pocket to make a pass, you gotta call your best plays that will get a quick pass off. wheel route works good but again people are good on defense so theyll shut that down real quick. I like to mix in screens, keep them guessing. Out routes, zigs, anything quick into the flat can beat a lot of these instant sacks that happen in squads.
-back to WR tips, when i user the wr, ill run the routes as intended but over time my buddy and I have found to beat man in squads(when it seems the defense is glued and nobody will get open at all) you gotta start doing unique routes as the user which typically involves make 1-2 cuts and you’ll completely lose a defender in 1 on 1 situations. so what I do is I run my route to begin the play, defender Is glued to me, so I take him inside the numbers, then I’ll hit Left Trigger(to kinda square up my player to slow down and make a cut) and almost simultaneously flick the Right Stick to the left, and immediately after I run left with the Left Stick, 9 times out 10 I burned my defender for an easy sideline catch.

-when You are on defense and the O is having huge success with the run, it becomes very hard to stop because you have to call certain formations or plays to stop the run and if they’re any Good they’ll know once you’ve basically committed to stopping the run and then they hit you with good pass plays. Best advice I can give about stopping it is find your most versatile formation on defense, user the sub LBs and you both gotta be CRISPY in reading the run/play actions and make a play.
-if you are having consistent over throws, the one who is playing QB needs to figure out the timing of the pass better. Gotta find the sweet spot of timing with enough air on the pass and enough time for the receiver to get under it. Too much air = over throw or defender will catch up, not enough air = under thrown and INT
