EL TORO- Is it good this year?

I know it’s supposed to work well on players that only have the Bull Rush Trait so I‘m thinking about scheming my d-line with this to see what happens.

Just wondering if anyone has had some success using this?

Does it work well on interior linemen or only on the edge?

Do you need ET or DON for it to be effective?

I’ve had it on a couple of players but haven’t really noticed the animation. The players I’ve used it on have other pass rush traits so I’m not sure if it’s even doing anything.

I'm using it on Milk Man right now and was using it on Legend Mario Williams before. When I had it on Mario, it was the only ability I had on him and he would get a few pressures a game at a minimum even against EP/SP tackles. However, with Watt, I haven't had as much success with it so I don't know if it was El Toro helping get the pressure or if Mario Williams was just one of those cards who played above his stats (I also was running defensive rally on my DT. Not sure if that helped or not as well with it. I'm no longer running it). 

I definitely feel like it's one of those "only use when free" abilities as it seems like it does light up, but not enough to warrant any AP on it. Same goes for Speedster. I ran it on Cameron Wake by itself and while it would light up and get me pressure occasionally, it definitely isn't something I would've spent AP on.

That seems similar to my experience so far. Mario Williams played great for me but I was using DON/ET and not using El Toro on him. He did play way above his attributes.

I’m just wondering if I used El Toro on someone like Ogbah that only has the Bull Rush trait if he would get regular bull Rush animations?

I also thought of another question, if you put DON on somebody who only has the Bull Rush trait would that be similar to using El Toro on them anyways?

Not expecting you to answer that for me, just sharing my thoughts.

Edit: I also have El Toro on Milk Man and haven’t noticed the animation but he has been pretty active for me with his X-factor being on pretty much the whole game. He has been great at stopping the run as well.

Only issue is that you can really only use it a handful of times in a game because it only works when pass rush points are full.  If you can get it for 0 AP  than i tgink it is a great avilty.  However even at 1 AP I would rather have DON or ET.

Yeah I just ran through a small test (5 H2H games) with it and it was not very effective at all. I had 3 El Toro’s and 3 Defensive Rally to get my pass rush points full on 3rd/4th downs.

I watched it light up a lot but the animations weren’t like pancake bull rush moves. A lot of times it took the DE’s multiple moves to get passed the O-line. Also if there was Edge Protector or Secure Protector my DE’s were stood up like statues.

I feel like it will work if you user the d line, kind of like how DON is pretty much dominant when usered.  Of course that opens you up to everything in coverage that you would normally cover with a LB user.

I think you’re right, if it was usered it would probably get the dominant bull rush move animation. No way I’m usering the D-line.

I have only tried it on the JJ Watt “Milk Man”. He gets pressure for me both at LE and DT.
