Route Tech vs the in and out elites? Using Fred Biletnikoff?

Unlocked Fred today and he looks pretty good especially on a legends TT with 96spd,98acc. I'll probably have him replace Cobb who has been a little underwhelming or Moss and also Fred gets route tech for only 1ap.  My question about route tech is why would anyone use any of the short or medium in and out elites abilities over it? It seems like route tech would be better than say short in elite cause it will light up for any route as long as its MCV. Currently I have Marvin with 0ap MIE,Cobb with route tech for 2ap,Fred with 1ap RT and Moss and his 0ap DOE.

Route tech is not as good as it was last year.  I feel like my receivers are better with the ins and outs.
