Looking to mix up my defensive line rotation. Lawrence has been amazing for me but trying to get a little more speed in at rush dt. Problem is the other guys I would replace him with are 2 AP D Rally and Im not sure if it is really worth it. I have not heard it talked about as much, maybe because Olines are getting so much better with ablities. What is everyone's opinion.
Defensive Rally still important?
Its def not a NEED to have but its nice to have. Especially when you have all your Dline running DON
You could get Simmons or Seymour and sub them in at DT on 3rd/4th down since they both get 0AP D Rally.
Otherwise look at whoever your best DE is and see if he gets 1AP Mr. Big Stop. Then he would have at least half of his pass rush points on every 3rd/4th down.
Edit: if you rotate your DE’s regularly then you don’t need D Rally as much because the fresh guys coming in after a couple plays should have all of their pass rush points again.
Simmons is sill a beast, so I'd say its worth it to run Drally on him. Honestly everyone has secure protectors outside, so I'd use free abilities on the edge and then Drally and DON on the inside. Most have secure only on their center outside of the tackles, so if you go against a guard you can get tons of instant wins.
