Short in, Short out, and human joystick, dude is just unstoppable.
Great card. Love him in the slot. But not unstoppable. If you run up against someone with inside shade like Haynes for example, that shuts down SIE. If you have a short ko also, that shuts down SOE.
Personally, I run man D with Revis, Haynes and I have inside shade/outside shade, and all man coverage abilities. Both of them with 99 man. Revis gets short route ko and inside shade. He also has 99 press for me, Edeleman's release is 94 so Revis will win those press battles. If you play someone with bench press (Revis gets that for 1 AP), and he successfully wins a press, Edleman's stamina goes down to orange/yellow.
That's how you stop Edelman. But still, that's a heck of a lot to do to stop one card. For me, I also have D Hop, Irvin, Herman, Owen Daniels, etc....so if you stop one card you don't stop my whole passing offense

You can also just motion slant him unless hes shading down so that beats the press and he gets too much separation for a ko and cuz of Human Joystick he can run for days after. That’s what has worked for me atleast
Irvin, Olave and Reed are better

I have used all 3 and the only one who id say is close is irvin

Also D Hop

That's just cheese but even if you do that he won't get separation on inside or outside shade

maybe it’s just my playstyle but edleman plays better than all of them for me. Granted I think the reason i think that is because i primarily use him either for checkdowns or on deep route. he is short so i avoid the middle for the most part, but i have enough height and speed everywhere else that it doesn’t matter too much

I don’t think any corner gets SR Ko and inside shade without spending like a million ao so that doesn’t really matter. either he beats the press or gets space underneath.

I stand corrected, revis gets outside shade and sr for three, but other than him i believe.

Revis gets outside shade and short ko. So if you run in the middle there are guys like Hit Man, Prez, etc with crusher and enforcer, avalanche.....I wouldn't run Edelman over the middle too much like you said. But if you try to run short outs/slants with him, a CB like Revis will be right with him. 99 Press, Short route KO, outside shade, 99 man.
But yes, most people will not be able to run those abilities on one CB.....I am not the majority; my team is 97 pushing 98 OVR with boosts.
The thing is, being able to run short slants away from the middle does not make a card the best in the game.....for me , you have to be able to do it all to be considered top dog, like D Hop or Irvin.
But I do love the Edelman card, he is my slot receiver

That’s fair enough, I admit that having him as the WR1 in the game is a bit of a hot take and probably wrong but idk. I feel like i’ve just been using the ultra meta super tall dudes you kinda have to play the same way with, and edelman is probably the most fun i’ve had with a care in a while.

I don't need super tall dudes and I hate running the meta....but I like WRs that can stiff arm, truck, and break tackles rather than spin and juke. I'm old LOL; I prefer tough guys.....I wish they released more top end WRs that are like DK, Megatron, Boldin, etc....Actually D Hop has 88 stiff arm and 89 trucking with 94 break tackle so that's another reason I love that card.
Edelman is great, at WR1, slot, wherever you like to play him. It's a game so have fun....I just like thinking strategy and how to best combat certain things but Madden is not a sim even though EA brands it as one....so not a lot of the gameplay is logical.
