Here's something I've never understood. Why do comp players use SFL or PLE and then throw only high balls? Neither of them activate on high balls
Where did you see it doesn’t work on high balls?

Here's the Pass Lead Elite definition
Passers with this ability have increased throw power on bullet precision passes (except on high/low throws).
Here's the Set Feet Lead definition
Passers with this ability have increased throw power on bullet precision passes made while their feet are set (except on high/low throws).

Oh shoot, ya idk then. I was in game when I saw this and it didn’t say that in the pre-play definitions, that’s why i asked.
Maybe it’s just incase they have to throw to the flats or quick slants?

Yeah but they are picking it over other abilities like fearless or gunslinger

You actually just made a very good point

because what it says and what it does are different.
This has to be the dumbest thread ever created

Yes… go into practice mode and throw with a velocity ability then without. I helps on all throws and is a necessity if you want to win games.

Seems like there's a lot of abilities that don't follow their description
yep... check out this site for the best ability descriptions:

if you go look at SFL it says activates only on bullet passes and with a pass lead, which the high balls people throw are still bullet passes just at a higher trajectory and pretty much every pass you are pass leading at least a bit, doesn't have to be a free form can be just the old school pass lead.
The misconception between PLE and SFL is that one works on the run and the other doesn't. This is only kind of true, because the game thinks on the run is when you have RT pressed in or "turbo", so if you are rolling out and throw without pressing RT then SFL will still activate even though you are moving. PLE just lets you throw with RT pressed in and get the velocity boost.

Any throw where you lead the ball, basically any throw where you use precision passing for the most part, triggers SFL or PLE. As for PLE vs SFL on the actual run, that's been a thing for 2 years I think. As long as you are not holding turbo it treats the throw as if you have set feet. I still prefer PLE even though I rarely run with my QB and don't roll out all that much but I find that often I see a receiver come open fast and can't ease off RT quickly enough LOL
Congrats on MOTW by the way
