A good start are solo battles and then practice. Run on the highest difficulty in practice and go through all the plays you feel comfortable with. 

Also, if you have the coins, get a Quadfather or Henry. Their ability to make something out of nothing will make you see 3rd and 6 or 2nd and 4 and you don't need to get chunk yardage all the time. 

In H2H there's also challenges that are limited time where it's one drive or one series. Tweak your team and test out plays there. That way if it blows up in your face it's over fast and you can make adjustments.

More than that since I bet a few hundred on the Celtics who should easily beat the post-trading their two best players even though they were the 5th seed and are now shit Nets. Easy predictor GG Points :)
