Speed is not everything

im not talking about the pils lol

 a lot of ppl keep talking about speed speed speed

but at this point of the game 

even if you are at 99 speed if the player can’t hold the ball or catch it speeed is worthless 

and understand me speed is a top 3 stat in madden of course but it’s super easy to find +97 speed player now who go higher with tt

but 1 speed vs superbowl ring? one boost my oline to a 98 average , my linebacker to 99 the other…..

he is superfast but when i saw him on the field i just put a 6foot cb on him and he disapear 

for me he is just a kick returner at this point

The way Madden works with thresholds makes speed much more important than other stats. 

+1 speed makes a noticeable difference. This is because it is a physical attribute and does not work on a threshold system like non-physical attributes. 

In contrast, blocking and catching stats work on a threshold system. For example, in most Madden games, for a non-physical attribute 90 is the same as 99. So as long as you meet that minimum the player will plays just fine. Although some have said that the thresholds are now every 5 ratings up, which I'm not completely sure about. 

So, in essence, not only is speed important, but at this point in the year physical attributes like speed are one of the few attributes which actually matter. Top tier cards will all play the same unless their physical attributes and abilities differ. 

Finally, at this point in the game very few players have base 99 speed. Even Tariq Woolen was given 98 instead. But with the Journeyman strat almost every newly released player already reaches the max speed.

At this point it is easy to get many players on both sides of the ball to 97-99 SPD/ACC.

QB nailed it. Speed is the most important attribute on pretty much any card in the game. Tell me how a 94 speed WR will play compared to 99 speed. One will get open rhe other will not and it doesn’t matter their other attributes, like catching

I think once you get to like 97 speed, it becomes negligible. but if there’s a large gap, then the difference is astronomical. best example is on deep passes. doesn’t matter how good a corner’s man coverage and press is. If the receiver is faster, they will get a step no matter what and if someone knows how to free-form, it’s a completion every time. certain positions, 99 speed isn’t needed but like on outside corners, I want 99 speed. Slot corner can get away with like 97.

The two most important attributes in my scheme are speed and power.

i dont have 94 speed wr in my team ahaha

i will give an example on a 98 ov team with bucs tt

hill toty no tt 99 speed

julio jones combine 99 speed with tt or 98 when i sell backups player to grab a big one

jones is wayyyyyy better in any aspect  when  i play him cause of all the other bost he got

other thing

all end game player have mostly 97 and more speed

does going over 99 do someting? 

i played a lot a game in my life where i loved to min max my thing(warcraft and other)

A lot of people mistake speed for acceleration.

In Madden speed only means top speed of a player card. Acceleration means how fast that card can hit top speed. 

For me accel is just as important as speed in Madden
