In yalls opinion where should the skill gap in madden, more specifically mut be? Between stick work, scheme selections and player and ability selections there’s a lot of ways a player can be good or bad. This year even the ability to lead passes properly is the difference between games. I’m a big fan of a more knowledge based skill gap eg who knows more about how abilities work and who has the best scheme.
i would just prefer if they would either alter or do something about the plays everyone knows are 1 play tds
or provide some more options on defense to allow you to set your defenders where you want pre play or in strategy
A great start is not relying on Op abilties in a Op man defense scheme to bail you out....almost takes ZERO SKILL or football IQ to run that garbage.....all you need is decent user to cover the middle of the field then sit back let the cpu do everything for you, and if you do get beat trash shade abilities, ko abilities will bail you out
skill gap on offense is knowing route combos to beat any defense and not relying on the plays that beat every coverage in the game the majority of the time (PA shot seams is an example, or other plays from tight). Also being able to read the defense pre and post snap is a skill the top players have that many do not.
On defense I'd say being able to bag the money plays, as well as predict what the opponent is going to go to route combo wise as well. I'd say another skill gap is with the user, and not just how they move around to muddy up reads but also the user press mechanic, too many people don't utilize their user in this way when you can take a receiver out of the play and mess up the offenses timing. Again the weird seam streaks in tight to the TE is a good example, when user pressed your zones play it better and it gives more time for your rush to get home. can also be really good against a streak corner flat combo there if you press the streak then he can't clear out the deep zones for the corner route. lastly I think a good player will rarely give up the same play twice in a game, and be able to adjust and adapt to what there opponent wants throughout the game. I find to many people run the same 3 plays on offense and the same two defensive coverages with minimal adjustments that it is easy to predict later on in a game. The best players always find a way to make you uncomfortable.
I kind of agree that the one play TDs are annoying. There should be a way to adjust and say “in this offensive formation look out for this route” because then you could guarantee which route your defender would pick. It would still have a strategy because then they gotta have 2 beaters from 1 look or whatever. I wish the spotlight defender feature worked better
