If you don't play offense much and focus mainly on defense, definitely get those players that will help you most, without your lineup it is hard to say who you should get though.

Maniac is a nice pass rusher too as he gets all 32 team chems (so he'd get Seahawks for you) and a great ability stack: Unstoppable Force (Maniac), Double or Nothing, and Inside Stuff for 2 AP total.
Those 2 mentioned above are solid pickups though.

You can play maniac as your left or right end he doesn't need to be a linebacker. His x factor will make him very good still.

If you run a 3-4 then you could use him as your outside linebacker to come off the edge.
